I have no clue what the Cubs are gonna do with Mo Baller this year, but I don't think you can trade him for anything short of an ace. The bat is special.

I don’t think they trade him. I think they sign Tucker and trade Happ. Bring Mo up to DH next year. Maybe catch a little. But, I agree, if he is traded it better be for someone very good.

He and Triantos seem like guys the A's would like in a Mason Miller trade as well.

We'll have to see what happens with Triantos. His contact quality hasn't been good since getting to Iowa, and his production was not great before getting a hamstring issue.

The hope is that it isn't long term and he's back and producing better, Good for him and the Cubs.

I would suspect ultimately that there is a "Keep 2, Trade 2" decision between Ballesteros, Caissie, Alcantara, and Long.  It will largely be mostly based on their performances, but I also think there's a component of what happens with Kyle Tucker.

Is Long really in the same conversation as the other three? Or is this grouping primarily based on proximity to the majors?

I don’t think Long belongs with those guys. I doubt anyone would take him in lieu of the other 3. I think if they keep Tucker they can part with 2 of Alcantara, Cassie and Ballesteros.

Of those three, I think Mo has to be kept because will eventually replace Carson Kelly.

He's not as good as the other three but if we keep Tucker he's the best roster fit due to the combo of position and handedness.

Moises is such a difficult guy for people to rate. He is constantly underrated, IMO, because people keep expecting him to get overmatched at some point. He just hasn’t been yet.
