Okay, but it's 80 innings over the course of two small samples. It would be one thing if Wicks didn't have pedigree behind him, but he does. He was a top-25 selection in the draft, who has pitched quite well over his time in the minors. He's working back from injury. 

If Wicks was a 29 year old journeyman, making a "he sucks" argument would probably be warranted. Context here suggests that's not the case and being a bit more patient is the prudent answer.

Most are probably down. And one of the benefits of Wicks is the ability for him to go 2-3 innings if need be. This is kind of why you have him on the roster right now - the length.
