Eh, I don't know if you can say that for sure, Love was still very good this year. I don't know how we're defining 'franchise QB' these days, but he's definitely a good player. Someone worth committing tens of millions to.

But he hasn't shown that he has Favre-Rodgers talent yet, no, that's true. Us Bears fans may have finally found the Packers don't have a HALL OF FAME level QB yet. But it remains to be seen. (Because the Football Gods hate us)

Annoying to see Jayden Daniels go out and win a playoff game. I haven't been super upset at the Caleb-Daniels-Nix-Whatever comparisons, but it does irk me to see the Commanders go out and win so effortlessly while we've struggled so mightily.

I would be extremely comfortable facing Love for the next 10 years.

I think comparing Love to Favre and Rodgers career talent is really not realistic/fair, especially after just two seasons.  Favre and Rodgers are first-ballot HoFers and two of the greatest QBs of all time.

The Packers had to give him the big contract last season because it was coming up on year 4 of his initial contract. I think Packers fans annointing him as the "next one" after last season was a bit premature. But I also think that labeling him as nothing special after year 2 (as a starter) is also a bit premature.  Using early Favre as a comparison, his first season starting for the Packers was pretty special. BUt in year 2 as a starter, he led the league in INTs. Packers fans had no idea what to make of the "ol' gunslinger".  He seemed to make 2 bad decisions for every remarkable play. But year 3 proved to be a pretty spectacular season followed by 3 consecutive MVPs. And then a "Superb Owl" win.

I don't know that Love will ever be HoF material, but he doesn't have to be.  He just needs to build on his first two seasons as a starter and improve.  And I think getting a receiving corp with some experience will help.  The WR/TE with the most experience just finished their third season.

Anyway, as I mentioned in another thread, I didn't think the Packers were going to go very far in the playoffs. They just didn't seem to ever be able to put four quarters together in a game. ONwatd and upward to the Draft and then the 2025 season! Go Pack Go!!

I would be extremely comfortable if the Bears are facing the Packers' Jordan Love for the next 10 seasons as well.

And it's just our luck or, I guess, fate, the Bears finally have a QB who can possibly flip the narrative on Bears-Packers but, he's going to be pissed away by incompetence.

The thing that I find inexplicable about Jordan Love is he’s the only NFL qb I see consistently throw up complete lollipops, like the equivalent to baseball pop fly, and his receivers somehow just always catch them. Defenders fall over, or misplay the ball, or cause pass interference. It’s not that the receivers are wide open or anything - these are seriously bad passes…and yet he always gets a positive play out of it. It’s truly maddening.

They must practice that, I find it hard to believe he's throwing the ball up for grabs hoping for the best result.  Now, the part I can't figure is how defenders seem to consistently fall down, well, maybe is just the Bears.  Time and time again we've seen them fall on their asses leaving Packers receivers to make a catch.

The next time Jordan Love overthrows his WR on a deep ball will be the first time he overthrows his WR on a deep ball in a really, really long time. Funny thing is that he has a lot of arm strength. He just never seems to get the deep pass well beyond the defender, always seems a tad underthrown.

Yeah, the last Packer drive that should probably been called PI in the endzone he under threw it by 5 yards. If he gets it remotely close to the WR, its PI all day

It's not just the Bears, it happened several times against the Eagles (the last play of the game was an example of one, that was rightfully picked off but also "should" have been pass interference as well)

And this is good evidence that QBs, especially developing QBs, shouldn't be afraid to just lob balls up there, or put them in some danger, because contrary to how it was 30-40 years ago, its simply not true that more bad things than good things can happen on a pass play. Receivers are way better, defenders are legally not able to do as much as they used to break up passes, and the game is called in a way to incentivize more explosive plays and scoring.

It might seem like the worst thing you can do as a QB is throw a pick, but honestly, it's far worse for you to take a sack than it is to throw a ball into danger. These days, anyway.

Someone reminded Sam Darnold that he’s Sam Darnold

Thought there was a decent chance the Rams would win but, didn't see this coming.

Alright Kyle Darnold turned back into a pumpkin and Love isn’t a top 10 QB. Still think coaching plays a lot into QB development and Darnold had a fantastic year until the last few weeks, but I suppose they can’t work miracles

"We've secretly replaced the Minnesota O-Line with the Bears' O-Line, let's see if anyone notices..."

I was rooting hard for 10 sacks, warms my heart to know other OB's and OL's are capable of Bears level incompetence.  What's more is it was vs. not exactly the most fearsome defense in the NFL, throw in the Vikings being coach by the young brilliant flawless Kevin O'Connell.  Just hilarious.

Darnold looked like a deer in the headlights on the sidelines.

Again, refreshing to see, as I thought Bears' QB's, well, specifically, Justin Fields, had the market cornered on that look.

Commanders-Lions possible shoot out?  I'm certain the Commanders won't be able to stop the Lions, will the Lions manage a few stops of the Commanders?

-9 is a crazy line for the Lions, but of course they looked really, really good all season long. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Commanders keep it close.

All of these are great match ups. The NFL did do it well this year.
