There's something particularly delicious after the last 30 years of mostly misery that Notre Dame is the first team in college football history to win two major bowl games in one season (I know it was never possible before)

Playing with pretty much a backup offensive line and one remaining starter on the defensive line and they beat Georgia and Penn State back to back, holy hell.

And Singleton dropping an easy TD in the 1Q

To be fair it wasn’t a great pass so the QB needs to share the blame for that one. But yes, he needs to catch that.

I thought the same, never been that impressed with Allar.  Sure, he feasts on lower tier teams but, when push comes to shove against quality opponents he mostly comes up empty.

The running game was dominating in the first half. Why Franklin decided to shift to the passing game in the 2nd half is mind boggling

Agree, your OL is dominating the line of scrimmage why stop running the ball?

Perhaps ND's quick scoring drive to start the 2nd half spooked them

That throw hit the RB in the knee.  That would have been an incredible catch if he had made it.  100% the QB's fault.

So your QB is 11-20 for 139 yards (before the interception) and rather than just go to OT, you choose to run the hurry up offense starting at your own 20 with less than a minute left? I mean I get you have 2 timeouts but in that scenario I think you're better off just going to OT.

OT is such a crapshoot though, especially if you get to a 3rd OT.  McElroy even laid out the case for letting him throw it.  He just threw a ball he knows he can't get away with.

It just didn’t seem worth the risk. ND still had all three timeouts so there’s a scenario where they pin you back at the 5, you run three times and punt the ball right back to them and ND gets it back at midfield. If your offense had moved the ball all game then sure, go for it. But with how they’d struggled to throw the ball all game, I don’t think the potential reward was worth the risk. Obviously you don’t bank on Allar throwing a pick there but that’s not the only thing that can go wrong.

That's a frustratingly perfect line. And I don't gamble

Yeah I don't feel comfortable with either side of it. My heart says that Al Golden is the best DC in the country and if Texas can reasonably slow OSU's offense down, so can he. But ND is basically on its backup OL and DL and its best offensive player is playing at 60% or so. There are a lot more paths to victory for the Buckeyes than for ND.

I have a hard time seeing ND score too much on OSU. Even if ND can keep them to 3 scores, I don't think ND is matching.

While I wouldn't mind seeing Notre Dame publicly sticking their finger in Brian Kelley's eye.

I just don't see anyway Ohio State doesn't blow the Irish out.

Something like 35-10.
