This is a winnable game.

The focus has to be on Caleb, if he can handle the Vikings' blitzes and exploit them I'll be happy win or lose.  He didn't horsefeathers his pants ala Mitch and Justin vs. the Packers, hopefully, we don't get the Justin deer in the headlights vs. the Vikings.

As for the rest, I'm certain we'll see the same lack of urgency and aggression from Eberflus, no concerted efforts to pressure Darnold, DB's falling/getting pushed down leading to big plays for the Vikings, etc.

It could be worse- Joe Burrow is the first QB in NFL history to throw for 300 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs in two consecutive games and lose both of them.

I think the fight is gone from this team, but I could be wrong.  They put together a great effort last week only to be kicked in the balls yet again.  Hard to keep getting up for the games, especially when they dont seem to like the coach.

We're in that part of the season where it's all about Caleb and I don't particularly care about winning or not.

While I agree Caleb is most important here, but I also would add Rome/Wright to that and probably Dexter as well.

Aren’t the Bears second in going for it on 4th down and have a solid converting percentage?

Say the Bears are up 8 on the Vikings, 2:30 left in the game, 4th and inches at the 50, you know Eberflus is going to punt and trust his defense to keep them out of the end zone.

up by 8 I'd prolly punt too

up by less than 8, go for it

Caleb Williams 18-25 for 225 1 TD 0 INTs vs a very good Vikings Defense

Bears however lose 16-14 when Eberflus decides to punt with 4 seconds left on 4th down from the Viking 35 and Minnesota returns the punt 98 yards with no time remaining. A normal coach when up 14-10 in this spot would have the QB scramble around to kill the clock.

I'd go for it, another first down makes them burn their timeouts and should you have to punt after the next series of plays they'll have less time with which to work.  But, let's be honest, whatever choice Eberflus makes will ultimately be the wrong one.  While the dude is about a sharp as marble regarding some things, he's also the most snake-bitten Bears coach in history.   Everything that can go wrong does, never catches a break.

Instead how another blocked kick and return for a TD?

This is actually a defense that Caleb should do very well against. They blitz almost constantly and Caleb has been solid against the blitz.

It's almost unfair that they are forcing the Bears to play these games. I should be happy to at least get to watch Caleb play but man, they've sucked so much joy out of the game from me.

Yep.  Flus and his clown show have trashed what should have been a fun season.

Swift missed practice with a groin injury.  Flus hopeful he can play.

This would be big if he can't go. I liked what they did last week with Swift/Johnson

I want to see Roshon more on early downs. Just in general I prefer the way he runs on early downs between the tackles. But it’ll be interesting to see what he can do as the main back if Swift can’t go.
