I dunno if I'd say good at his job, but he ran a competent NFL offense in Seattle.

You don't get to this point without a lot of things going wrong simultaneously. We wish it was as simple as firing some coaches or changing up the playcalling.

Whether through coaching or on his own merits, Williams has turned into a tough-throw-phobic sack machine.

The offensive line is kinda mid if everything stays perfect, but they aren't and it's a disaster, and it's not clear it has many plus pieces going forward.

The WR room has become a black hole for assets and it's still dysfunctional and in need of a rebuild.  The only real long-term piece is Odunze and has he actually shown anything special yet?

Our starting RB is a hole-blind third down back. Our backup rb is a backup rb and that's all he will ever be

well market forces kinda dictate that you're going to hire a new OC (as part of bringing in a new staff top to bottom as looks increasingly likely) rather than overhaul the personnel in one offseason

i don't disagree with any of the specifics here but if williams has turned into what you say he has, the coaching is culpable to some degree.

i do think waldron has shown an almost complete lack to scheme anything open down the field. we're not going to score a touchdown (let alone multiple) unless we're just running teams over without popping some medium-big to big plays in the passing game. tough sledding to put drives together with 50/50 balls and tight window throws. where is our equivalent of a regular schmoe like austin hooper sitting wide open in space for a 28 year gain that set up new england's first touchdown? we had the play to odunze last week and that's about it for the last 3 games.

defenses (especially bad ones) shouldn't be able to take away EVERYTHING and they pretty much have except for the 4th quarter against washington in the last 3 games

I don't think the playcalling is an issue, but I think that the offensive staff has lost the respect of the veteran offensive players and it shows

they have lost the veterans, and the most likely reason is that the playcalling sucks

who would, eberflus? great....

probably thomas brown since he has called plays before (granted it was carolina last year so not great)

last year Keenan Allen had one of the best years of his career.  In 13 games he had 108 catches for 1,243 yards and 7 TD.

Here is what he's currently projected to get over a 13 game span:

48 catches, 448 yards, 4 TD

The Bears just destroy offensive players.

We have a rookie QB who has lost a lot of confidence, lots of injuries up front, sketchy play calling and players obviously not bought into the HC as a leader anymore.  This season has gone South in a hurry and I don’t see how it can be turned around.  Too many things are bad at once on the offensive side of the ball.

I watched that entire game with no emotion, and it went about as predictably bad as I would have imagined. I said it last week. This season is over. Nothing is pulling them out of this spiraling toilet bowl flush.

I had so much hope for this season. Meanwhile, I watch Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels and Derek Maye every week and I'm jealous that our QB isn't having a passing field day with the likes of Moore, Kmet, Allen and Odunze running routes. I honestly thought there was going to be an offense we could be proud of.

This team SUCKS!

Just put Bagent in for the rest of the season to get sacked 60 times and let Williams watch from the bench until next season when they fix the oline and get a new playcaller. Playing him will only cause him more harm.

In the grand scheme of things it is good that a gm that blatantly tanked multiple seasons and sabotaged a young qbs career is having it all blow up in his face

Agreed.  I need something to hang on to and this is it.  Poles hitched his wagon to Eberflus and it was a mind-boggling, horrific decision.  You wonder if he’s either so good that he knows something everyone else doesn’t.  But it turns out his judgment is that bad.
