Per Pierre LeBrun, Jonathan Toews will be signing a 1-year deal with the Winnipeg Jets. The deal can't be completed until July 1, but the agreement is already in place.

Good for him. Hope it works out. Gonna be a fun one when Winnipeg visits Chicago. At least they’ll have another sell out to fund the slow rebuild

I never wanted to see Toews or Kane in another uniform, but that ship has long since sailed. I am sincerely hopeful that his comeback is successful. Good for JT and also good for the Jets.

Sucks but his choice. I don't know how much he'll play or how effective he will be.

He’s at the very least a 3rd line face-off/defensive specialist on a deep team like that if there is indeed something still in the tank. What he brings in leadership alone will be priceless to them.

Trevor Zegras has been traded to Philadelphia.

Anaheim receives Ryan Poehling, 2025 2nd, 2026 4th.

Kind of an interesting destination for Zegras. And a cheap acquisition for Philly which severely lacks skill. He probably gets a chance to play center

Philly is going to be a fun team.

Scratch JJ Paterka off the list of potential draft day deals, he’s been dealt to Utah

Great move by Utah, who also have the 4th overall pick.

NHL and NHLPA reportedly have agreed to a new CBA which hasn’t been signed yet but should be announced soon.

they will increase regular season to 84 games (+2) while reducing the preseason will be shortened to 4 (-2) and there’s supposed to be a rule that vets with 100 games played can only play in 2 games

Less preseason is great, but I would have preferred less regular season games.

that will never happen. But I agree with you.. I loved the 48 game schedule in 1995 and again in 2013.

Sam Bennett stays with Floridia

Kinda surprised. Thought he would wait out the highest offer on the market.

Eckblad stays in Florida

They're doing the Lightning thing where they sign all their stars to 8 year deals but somehow stay under the cap while my team is full of 19 year olds and they never have any money

Marchand back too now. Also your team is paying one of their stars on a long term deal. It’s maybe the last major sport where people take major “culture” discounts.

I'm complaining when my team has like $45 million in cap space this year (lol). But in years past, it's always "there's no cap space" when I see other teams just pile up 100 point all-stars with the same money

Kind of glad Florida is running it back. They get the PED guy and the 37 year old rat on a 6 year deal. They will probably be a threat again next year, but back to back to back is a lot of hockey for their aging core and has to take a toll. I assume this won’t end well. But let em enjoy it while it lasts
