I fell asleep listening to the game with my ear buds in. This time I was pleasantly surprised by Zaidman's screening about something worthy.

That was an incredible comeback. I figured they were cooked but I watched the 9th anyway. Glad I did.

Same here, flipped over from the Hall of Fame Game/Deadpool, after the Bellinger HR, thought patented fake rally.  Then Nico gets on and steals 2nd, was almost certain Swanson, with a two strike count, was going to K.  Then Tauchmen pinch hitting, thought certain he was going to make an out and the Cubs would lose in balls busting manner but, alas, it was the Cardinals who took a kick to the balls.  And what a glorious kick to the balls it was.

He's finally getting the ball in the air.  People don't want to hear it but Swanson's been mostly fine at the plate this year and largely been the victim of a lot of the same batted ball issues that bit Morel.  But the groundballs have been an actual problem, and even if he wasn't getting short shrift in the luck department the for his offense being "roughly league average" vs. "legitimately good" is keeping it off the ground.

I don't love doing the arbitrary endpoints game between seasons but wow.  This basically covers the game or two before Seiya's mental reset last year and everything since.

Which is exactly why I don’t understand how anyone would want to trade him so they can sign Tyler O’Neil. No idea why some people do not realize how good an offensive player Suzuki is. Just add one bat and a league average catcher to this team and they have a good offense. If Bellinger stays you have 10 guys for 9 positions. Which is fine. If that big bat is Soto they would have a top 5-7 offense. If it is Teoscar or Alonso it would still be very good. They can also add via trade. Guerrero, Tucker or Robert. They have enough minor league resources.

Go big or go home. I want one of Soto, Tucker or Vladito.

This. This. This. Gimme Vlad assuming Soto won’t happen.

I feel like they are going to big on Vlad or some other star they can trade for. Massive log jam of prospects at AAA soon when Triantos, Alcantara and Shaw get their deserved call up.

Shaw never sees AAA unless his star fades significantly.

Shaw should be at AAA right now, would assume he spends more time there than AA the rest of the year.

And he most likely will open next year at AAA. I highly doubt he is on the  major league roster to start next year. He will undoubtedly see AAA.

I dont think he skips AAA, I cant even remember why Morel skipped AAA in his first time around but doesnt seem like something Hoyer would do

That was an unusual situation where he was at the covid alternate site working out with the guys from the majors.

Because then Seiya could DH. I haven't seen a single person say get rid of Seiya for O'neill.

I think there was one if you go back to the 7/30 thread. Not going to call them out specifically. But think most of us want to hang on to Seiya.
