They’ve had some solid swings off of Shota so far, luckily multiple have been foul besides that one. Just keep guys off the base paths and we can live with solo shots.

Hope PCA can dig himself out of his rut. Has been lost the plate

He is not the only one.

Remind us again Jed why Morel was untrade-able?  I know he's hit in some bad luck however, this is how most of his at bats go in these situations.

Because he's the best hitter on the team despite being the youngest and has boat loads of control and potential?

What is with the Morel hate around here lately.  Dude should have like a 900 OPS if it wasn't for bad luck.  Literally the only player that Cubs fans should be drooling in excitement over this season except for Shota Imanaga

Elly de la Cruz is going to be a super fine mlb ss.

But he looks like he belongs in a LA Lakers jersey

Him and O'Neal Cruz..

Cubs gotta find a tall one to take over for Swanson 😅

I missed the bad luck column in the stat line?

Probably referring to Morel's xwOBA of .377 vs his wOBA of .311.

In years past, his xwOBA was within a point or two of his wOBA.

The Cubs knocked the starter from the game in less than 2 innings, and have led by 3+ runs for the entire game. If your instinct is to be mad that a reliever held them scoreless for 8 outs, you should reflect on what your expectations are and how much you let yourself enjoy your team's successes.

I see we are having one of those games where we nurse a medium size lead, consistently get RISP but don’t score them leaving us in a position for the pen to blow it

I’ll take a good one to take over for Swanson at this point.

I'm starting to feel like the Reds being piss lucky not to give up 5 or 6 runs in the first inning is going to be a problem by the end of this one

You’re going to watch the Cubs get the leadoff guy on every inning and not convert and you’re going to like it!

May I be frustrated now?  How does Busch let that last FB with crush me written all over it go?

4 times in the last 6 innings the Cubs have had a RISP and haven’t scored. They did score in the 2nd but still had 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and didn’t score again.

He’ll be nearby in a Dodger uniform in the next half decade thankfully. Skeenes too. Hopefully by then we’ll be winning instead of talking about “the plan”.

Go for it man, sports are all about embracing negative emotions at the earliest and most frequent opportunity, after all.
