When is Zack going to learn to watch first, then report? It’s like he gets so excited he forgets how to do his job?

Good news: tying runs in scoring position with 0 outs

Bad news: Seiya and Bellinger are the runners on base meaning that another Cubs player has to do something

Ok so he did say foul ball then? I’m only half watching and could have swore he said foul ball so I turned away only to see Bellinger on 2B. He’s so unbelievably bad at this. Like to levels that I didn’t even imagine a “professional” broadcaster could be.

I didn’t hear foul ball. Maybe he did say that, but watching the game it was obviously fair.

obviously injuries and stuff, but this madrigal + mastrobuoni nonsense is really not acceptable for a team with the cubs’ resources

This is my first year watching Cubs games on Marquee after taking a sabbatical for about 3 years and what I have noticed is that JD and Boog are the main announcers, but every now and then one of them will have the day or a few days off (in the case of JD) and someone else will come in (Joe Girardi for the days JD was missing, Zaidman today). Are more people than only JD and Boog contracted to call games on Marquee?

Not that it actually matters when the hits occur but the Cubs have 5 total hits in the first 7 innings of their last 3 games combined.

Happ, Busch, Madrigal, Mastroboner, Amaya are all automatic outs at the end of the lineup. If you have a bunch of jags like that at the end of your lineup you better have a pretty elite team defensively

The catching situation is starting to get a bit dire.  Entering today, they had a 23 wRC+ over the last 30 days, .149/.204/.223

Still better that Mastrobuoni at least 😂

And Mastrobuoni with the worst throw to 1st base you will ever see.

Finally decided they couldn’t avoid giving him an error.

What a mess. Counsell has been dealt a bad hand but the quality of play has been shockingly bad.

Can’t wait for Hoerner and Swanson back on Tuesday
