I really like Gerald Everett as a 2nd TE, however like pointed out not exactly a dire area of need.

As long as Waldron will run the personnel, pass catcher is a area of dire need. Granted the definitely need 2 more WRs too, but a good pass catching TE can fill holes.

It makes perfect sense that a new oc would be able to bring in some of his guys, but Waldron has such a mediocre track record and I’m not particularly enthusiastic about the direction they’re heading.

The context was if they trade down from 9.  But I've heard some crazy helium. It could be like 13-18 range he goes.

Yup. Originally he was a late 2nd round guy and lately he's getting mocked in the mid teens. The gap between him and Sedrick Van Pran is pretty sizeable in my eyes, but I'm still not sure how you can justify a center in the 1st round.

So basically Caleb Williams may have screwed Fields (and the Bears) over by rescheduling his visit to the Bears.  IIRC he was supposed to come to Halas Hall last week and the Bears really wanted him to come but he insisted on visiting next week.

So now assuming the Bears continue the path of moving forward with Caleb, Fields won't have an option to be a starter anywhere and the Bears will likely get less in return for him.  Possible that he wouldnt have been a starter regardless but I'm sure both Fields and the Bears would have preferred to have this resolved already.

Not buying that at all.

Yeah, this feels like 100% spin to cover their butts and protect Fields' reputation, when they just overplayed their hand.

They're Bearsing this up a bit, but sometime before the season starts, Fields will be backing up somewhere else, Williams will be our QB and no real damage done.

I don't believe for a second that when Caleb Williams wanted to schedule a meeting with the Bears had any effect whatsoever on whether or not Justin Fields gets traded, or when he gets traded.

This is a whole lot of people trying to spin a story out of nothing.

I think the reason why they haven't found a trade partner for Fields has a lot more to do with the fact that he was the 23rd ranked QB by QBR in a season with several good FA options and a great draft for QBs than anything else.

Continues to completely ignore edge and wr, meanwhile the cap space keeps decreasing.

The Bears just don’t like having a lot of great skill position players for some reason

I’m now wondering if the best possible outcome for Fields and the Bears is the Patriots take MHJ 3rd and trade for Fields on draft night. They have Brissett but Fields should get every opportunity to be the starter.

I could definitely see him going to New England but I don't see them drafting Harrison.  That team has a lot of holes. Maybe they trade down and get extra picks

Welp one target I was really hoping the Bears would splurge for.  Really hope Poles draft picks turn out

2/49 seems favorable for a team with a lot of cap space

Hunter Renfrow is being released by the Raiders.  At first I thought that was someone we should go after but just realized his numbers have plummeted the last 2 years.  In 2022 he missed 7 games so that makes sense and last year I suppose they had QB issues but 25 catches for 255 yards and 0 TD in 17 games is not gonna do it.
