That package seems light.

I thought so as well.

Looks like they get the 34th pick as well -

I know a lot of people are going to say that's light and they think the Brewers got fleeced...but I kind of really like that deal for Milwaukee. Joey Ortiz feels criminally underrated and has some power that's been popping and DL Hall has some legit juice. Milwaukee's lost Sterns and Counsell but the support staff is largely still in place. You give that team, that stuff...and I'm a bit worried.

Baltimore's system is so loaded that I think we forget how loaded it's been.

It's also 1 year of Burnes at 15 million coming off his worst season.  Maybe they could've consolidated the value more, but that seems uncertain given how teams have clung to prospects, and in their position they're probably better off with more bites at the apple in looking for good players to be a part of their next core.

Two things that ultimately don’t matter much (the odds of the cubs winning the division, the cubs chances of being ranked as the best farm system in baseball) improved with that trade

The Brewers have a chance to be pretty bad.  They have enough sophomores and prospects in the upper levels that they could make the transition somewhat smooth, but Wade Miley is their #2 SP and their best hitter might be their catcher?  Like you don't have to squint to see them net a lottery pick.

Can someone explain this trade to me using Cubs prospects?

Left handed Ben Brown and...we don't have a great comp for Ortiz.  Matt Shaw who's a little less toolsy but major league ready right this second?

Ben Brown, but left handed and a middle infield prospect who reminds me of Michael Busch. Not a stylistic comp but in trajectory. Mid-20s prospect who's got MLB ready written all over him, but blocked. I think he's a good player.

I mentioned him as a guy I wanted, around June last summer, if the Cubs were forced to sell. I think he's a guy who suffers a bit from Orioles prospect fatigue and being blocked.

DL Hall has stuff, but doesn't stay healthy. I'd wager heavy money he's a reliever. Ortiz is a good defensive SS, but I'm not overly enthused with the bat. He's a safe floor, decent upside guy. Frankly I can't believe they couldn't get a better lead piece.

The article on the last page said the house was sold last June. What am I missing?

Image of rhe article is a bit poorly worded. What it seems as though, is that the residence was listed in May, and did not sell. In November, the Bohne's listed it for rent. It was pulled off the market relatively quickly afterwards, according to Zillow. It has not been listed since mid-November.

The tweet is alluding to Bellinger potentially renting it since his partner followed one of the Bohnes. How likely that is, is up you!

It's possible. But it's equally possible they met at some random fundraiser or something.

Does Baltimore’s new ownership work on extending Burnes now?

Scott Boras is his agent. Safe bet : he's going to be a free agent

Oak Brook would be a terrible commute to Wrigley. Especially once construction starts back up. Doesn’t really make sense IMO.

yeah but think about all the fun they can have at Oak Brook mall after games.  The Bellingers could be regulars at Puttshack

Makes me feel less crazy seeing this.

Based on post Counsell expectations, I don't know how anyone could vote it as anything but disappointing, Bellinger or not. If they miss on Bellinger/Chapman we then enter disaster territory.
