So glad I didn’t follow literally anything today. Much easier to just see the score and say oh well. Feel bad for those who had to go through that pain

edit; out of curiosity though which one was more painful?

You know, it's ok to issue an IBB once in a while, no matter who is behind him.

Ross probably called 5x as many bunts as IBB this year.

And yet didn't call for the obvious safety squeeze earlier in the game. It's like he's optimized to make bad decisions.

Y'all are holding onto false hopes anyway. Should have won more games against ****** teams in the seasons most pivotal month.

very true. Plus come on. We have no bullpen at all. It’s just not gonna work.

Reality is that this team is awful and has been awful for a while . They don’t deserved to make the playoffs . Ross need to be fired

Our playoff chances were lost in that stretch against Colorado, Arizona, and Pittsburgh (where almost every pitching matchup heavily favored the Cubs), no doubt.

And Ross steadfastly doing his "sticking with the guys that got us here" schtick.

Say what you will about Ross (he isn't a good in-game manager), this team is an indictment on Jed Hoyer.

Yep. I agree. I don't think this particular game is his fault but something has to change. I doubt it will

You don’t think this particular game is on him ? How about throwing a guy that has been completely worthless for more than a month to protect a lead in the 9th?

Why on earth would you pitch to the guy that keeps getting hit after hit in that situation with  a base open ?

This guy need to be horsefeathers fired . Has cost the Cubs more than 3 games with his stupidity .

Guys they’re tied with 4 games left despite blowing 2 painful games. It’s gonna be ok. Just have to take care of business and hope the marlins lose

The whole season counts and it's definitely not an awful team. A better Manager has them in the playoffs, even with the steep dropoff the last couple months.

It's either a good team that has been mismanaged, or an awful team that Ross got a 500+ record for the year. Probably can't be both.

Or its just an average team with an average manager that was constructed to kinda give a half measure of a shot this year and it came back to bite them.

No question about that, but Ross has managed to bungle things pretty badly. I think you have to cut him loose so he's not in a position to screw things up when we have legitimately good teams.

We can see how his mind works, and it's not great

Also his love affair with Mastroboner after a few good games, he's still a bum.
