Candelario has picked right back with his sucking, Herz pitched well in his brief time with the Nats too. That trade will go down being real ugly.

Candelario helped win games in the middle of a playoff push, which Herz would not have done for the Cubs this year.  The trade is already worth it.  Maybe Herz and Made turn out to be stars, but more likely they turn out not to be.

Not as bad as the Velasquez for Cuas might end up being

Debatable, if I remember correctly the entire lineup was hot during that stretch.

Cuas looks like a useful reliever and has several more years of team control.

With a FIP near 5 I wouldnt call him useful. Just a warm body

anyone surprised that the guy with an ERA over 5 is struggling the 3rd time through the order against the best lineup in baseball?  No?  Just David Ross?

Yeah, they should be going to all their shutdown bullpen arms.

Would help if his middle infield could turn a routine double play

Taillon is a solid pitcher. The misfortune he had early this season was epic. Ran like a 50% LOB for 3 months. He's gonna be fine during his contract. I wouldn't be surprised if he was tipping some as well.

He’s basically been the same pitcher he’s been for his entire career during the second half of the season. The first half was the outlier.
