I didn't watch this game, but I was watching the highlights and am scratching my head at a handful of plays that looked like this:

This looked a lot like some of the wide open receivers against the Bears in week 18, My question would be, is LaFleur's offensive scheme this good? How does an NFL receiver get THIS open without a busted coverage? Or was it a busted coverage?

I could tell the Melton TD was a busted coverage due to the safety falling down, and the 2 point conversion was legitimately good design... but how are the Packers the beneficiaries of stuff like this so often if not scheme?

And if it is scheme... can we get some of that?

Yeah, at times Love looks incredible but then again so does Fields. But Love’s receivers seem to be wide open A LOT. We rarely see that with the Bears. And the chosen one blew multiple wide open opportunities last night.

Aaron Jones is the best thing for Love. No coincidence Love looked mediocre when Jones was out or limited for a good chunk of the season

I don't think Love is by any means bad and is probably still pretty good, but it's not like he's hitting a lot of tight windows on these throws. His WR separation is absolutely crazy. Whatever the scheme is that they're running up there will make a lot of QBs look very good.

Agree. Jones is explosive.

So what you’re saying is a first year starting QB with no running game (and all first or second year WRs and TEs) isn’t going to be as successful as the same QB with a successful ground game? Interesting.

Of course Jones success is going to help to QB/passing game as the defense won’t be playing a one dimensional offense. But your statement seems to really be a generality not really based on the numbers.

On Nov 19, Jones had 4 carries and 2 targets before leaving the game with an injury. He missed every game after that until Dec 17. Some of Love’s stats in those games Jones missed:

Nov 19 Chargers - 108.5 QBR, 2 TDs, 0 INTs

Nov 23 @ Lions - 125.5 QBR, 3 TDs, 0 INTs

Dec 3 - Chiefs - 118.6 QBR, 3 TDs, 0 INTs

Dec 11 - @ Giants - 76.7 QBR, 1 TD, 2 INTs

Those stats don’t really support your statement although it’s only 3 1/2 games. Of course Jones being on the field helps the passing game. That’s Football 101.  But maybe it’s just that he got better as the season went on.  Over the course of his last 12 games (including the two playoff games), Love had a QBR over  108 NINE times. He also threw 26 TDs and only 5 INTs.

I would wager to say Live and his young receiving team just got better as the season progressed. Just my two cents.

Poor Bills. I mean I assume even if they made the FG then Mahomes would have just gone down for a FG anyway. Buffalo barely stopped them all game.

Previous play Allen threw way short to a wide open receiver in the end zone.  That was the chance to slay the dragon.

Tony Romo said something about Allen getting hit when he threw the pass but I didn’t really see much contact at all. Maybe affected his follow through but definitely seems like a throw he should have made.  And Diggs shouldn’t have Javon Wims’d that deep pass.

I'd like to see how they're getting so wide open, is there some picking and rubbing off of defenders going on?

Why do all these teams have success with the inside handoff and the Bears get crushed?

The Bears didn't have an NFL starting caliber player manning the Center position. You had injury/personal reason missed time from both starting interior linemen along with patchy play with such a weak Center playing between them. Getting Davis and Jenkins healthy and bringing in a couple of new Centers will improve the line play. Seemed to me that most of the pass rush/blitzes were right up the gut.
