And that was only the second funniest thing in football media this week:

Goony has just the meme for such nonsense. He will be along shortly.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. The Cowboys held on to Garrett for far too long and they're doing it again with McCarthy.

Coaches don't generally get fired after three straight 12 win seasons.

Perhaps I am remembering incorrectly,  but wasn't Marty Schottenheimer pretty close to this when he got canned? Granted that was like 15 years ago and the only similar instance I can think of.

It kinda happened multiple times to him?  Left Cleveland 'by mutual consent' after 32 wins in the previous three(12/10/10), fired from SD after winning 14 games and 35 in the previous 3.  KC at least he had a losing record the year he was fired but won 13 the year prior.

Lovie was fired after a 10-6 season, but they missed the playoffs.

Firing successful nfl coaches is a risky business. Jones realizes there isn’t a sure thing to replace him.

Successful is not the same as good. McCarthy is successful because he was lucky to go from Favre to Rodgers to Dak. I think most would agree that having 11 years of Rodgers and only making 1 SB and only 3 NFC title games is disappointing. Especially when LaFleur comes in, wins 13 straight games 3 straight years (McCarthy won 13 games once with Rodgers and twice total) and made back to back conf title games.

Jerry Jones is just printing money whether that team wins or not

Looking at the team-by-team revenue it’s pretty crazy how much more they bring in than everyone else.

And a lot of coaches would flinch at reporting to Jerry when other options are on the table.

That’s totally fair and understandable.

Well, I thought the line of Ravens -9 or -9.5 was ridiculous but clearly the Vegas people get football better than I do.

which bodes well for us Bears fans in that Green Bay - Sam Fran game (SF are 9.5 favorites)
