I believe this was the "national game" before the season started.  CBS and Fox alternate weeks of having the doubleheader. CBS had it this week, and the Chiefs/Vikes game was the national game. That means Fox only gets to show one game, either the early or late.

I'm sure the ratings machine hates showing Patrick Mahomes on tv. It must be Taylor Swift.

I think it's quite a bit too early to write the epitaph for Young. He's on a horsefeathers team with horsefeathers players and a horsefeathers coach. They're going to have to get some talent around him and Young is going to have to get significantly better though. Drew Brees failed with his first team too.

It is too early to give a verdict on Young but it does not look good.

Thanks for DJ Moore and your probable top 5 pick in 2024

It is nice to be on the right side of a fleece for a change.

The sticking point for me is he's, for today' NFL QB, a midget, open throwing lanes are difficult for him.  We can say whatever, about Poles however, I'm certain he wasn't sold on any of the QB's and that's why he didn't hold the top pick and draft one.  So far, with the exception Stroud, looks as if he was correct.  I could see a path were Fields has a big year and Poles trades him to get into position for Williams or Maye.

If Fields has a big year, why would you trade him for another QB who may or may not have that same big year?

If you think that Williams is a true generational guy like Peyton or Luck, then it could still make sense. Especially to reset the rookie time clock. I am not sure I agree with it, but I can understand the logic.

Yep, that tracks.

We don't know if the Bears would have taken Young or Stroud at #1 overall if they had kept the pick and dealt Fields, but Bears fans would be completely losing their minds right now if the Bears had taken Young and Fields was doing well elsewhere.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I just don't see it. I still think he's a very good prospect as I do see some Mahomes traits in him, He clearly would have been the #1 last year, but I just don't put him near that Peyton/Luck tier of prospect.

We all know damn well they would have taken Young over Stroud lol

I don't believe so, Poles has a type and little guys such as Young aren't his type.

He usually has all kinds of time to throw, I'd be in the Maye camp.  Maye has had less time throw and has been forced to go threw his progressions quickly plus he's a legit 6-3, 6-4 whereas, Williams is 6-0.

This was the most glaring thing I've noticed with him. He holds the ball absolutely forever. Maybe he can make the quick throws, but it seemed like he always had a ton of time so he never had to.

Yup.  When I saw the original post, I looked back to see if Eagles/Rams was always at 4:05, and it was.  4:05 games are never the national game, it's always the late game for the channel that doesn't get the national game.

Watching Packers fans realize in real time that they might not have a HOF QB for the first time in 30 years is enjoyable. Seeing a lot of people saying the coaches don’t trust him based on their playcalling, Packers fans saying he needs 2-3 years, etc. which is somewhat fair I guess but it’s the same things that Bears have been living with since forever.

I have to remind myself that he's been in the league one more year than Fields

It's almost like Love isn't good unless he's playing the Bears.

I saw warning signs even in that Bears game. Looks like teams have got enough tape on him now and can gameplan him. Coaches don’t trust him right now either.
