The Cubs may very well put up some crooked #s here in the early/ middle innings.  It's up to Ross to make sure Taillon doesn't give it all back.

I wonder if that poster who was really excited about the Cubs blowing game 2 of the double header is still really excited today.

Season tiebreaker now is in favor of the reds, if the offense doesn't score 10 runs today then the reds will be squarely in the race again. With the Cubs facing even more wildcard teams coming up, They might very well lose their playoff spot shortly.

Good recovery by the offense. Should be in the Reds bullpen before long. Hope we've got 4 or 5 more in us today

Today's thread is really proving his point, venting is fine and all but it's really obvious that in a game where the Cubs currently have a lead how many folks are actively looking for the negative and the whole of the thread reads as a bunch of misanthropes.

Because we know who’s on the mound for us

With two straight blown games and Taillons mighty struggles I think its fair to be a little weary about the situation of the game right now. Being optimistic is great but as I type this the game is blown again

Taillon sucks, but the Cubs are just as capable of parking several into the bleachers today (they just insist on hitting groundballs)

Something about him immediately shutting opponents down after he's surrendered the lead somehow annoys me even more.

lol "a little weary" yeah that's one way to describe it

No one is asking for emotionless objectivity or endless optimism/positivity, but if the whole point is to react emotionally in the moment then don't forget to enjoy the good things that happen too.  Having the game thread almost exclusively filled with people venting is a miserable forum experience and it's got to be an exhausting way to follow a game/team too.

And Ross just sits and watches as Taillon gets destroyed . I bet he lets him throw 100 pitches no matter what

Bullpen is gassed. Who do you suggest they bring in?

I see people reacting positively as well for the good moments as well, when you're losing during the heat of a playoff race the groans are going to be a little louder during bad phases which we are in one right now. This reds series was an important one and they are blowing it, what do you want people to post right now? "Golly gee we'll get em next time fellas!"
