A super-early start today. The Cubs really need this one to secure a series split with the Reds and keep chipping at their elimination number. At this point, are you cheering for the Brewers or the Phillies to win? The Phillies are a lot closer and the difference between the 3/4 seeds are basically non-existent.

No Canairo again..

Same lineup except Madrigal and Amaya are in and Morel and Gomes out...

They probably finally score 5+, but they'll likely give up 5+ today 🙄

What is the point of calling a red hot Canario just to sit him on the bench?

No issue with Canario not starting. Would like to see him when a lefty starts, however. So today is not the day.

the offense has been pretty lackluster lately, Canario is not a savior but he can’t be worse than some of the guys who have been struggling hard.

Right, I don't expect him to "save" the offense but they brought the kid up to obviously play, not to sit on the bench for 3 games, they could of brought Bote up for that.

Yesterday was the obvious day for him to get into a game,  but instead Ross goes with Wisdom.  🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The minor league season is over, I believe, so there's no opportunity cost, but yeah I don't get it either.

horsefeathers Taillon is the worst signing in the history of this franchise. At least Heyward brought defense.

If the Cubs are serious about trying to make the playoffs, it's time for this guy to get the Smyly treatment.  I don't care if it's Shane Greene, Killian, or whoever else that takes his spot, but continuing to run a guy out there with a 6 ERA is not working.

I’ll never get over having a president of baseball ops that thought singing Jameson was a good idea.

I always thought Taillon was bad, even when the stats didn't necessarily support that. I wonder how much the Cubs outbid themselves to sign him.

Yeah, he’s just never been that good. I just wish we could have outbid the Mets on Senga instead.
