Honestly, even Justin Fields would have looked good against the excuse the Bears called defense yesterday - I think.

Not if the training camp reports are to be believed

I've already heard people suggesting he'll go to Michigan next year after Harbaugh leaves for the NFL lol.  Every fanbase is going to expect Coach Prime.

Something tells me he'll be on indefinite leave within the next 3-5 years pending NCAA (and possibly state/federal) investigations. It'd be awesome if Deion is doing all of this on the up and up and he becomes the Next Great Coach, but I'm getting really weird vibes from how he's running that program.

I don't know, Archie Manning's grandson is pulling in almost $3 million this year. I feel bad for all the kids playing in the MAC for nothing.

Dude doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t even curse. Paying players is legal no through NIL. Exactly what kind of NCAA troubles do you anticipate for Prime?

We hear about those sorts of personality traits all the time with scummy megepastors and politicians. Moreover, I don't tend to trust people who constantly engage in self-promotion.

I also don't like the way he came to Colorado and promptly took a dump on the existing roster. Granted, results are results so far, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

As far as what sorts of unethical/immoral/illegal conduct could be involved? As I said, it's just a feeling. I want to be wrong, and maybe he turns out to be squeaky clean, but it's just a feeling that something feels off to me.

Is he even going to physically be able to coach in a few years? Due to circulatory issues, he's already missing parts of his foot and calve,  then there was talk recently he might lose the whole leg.

By the way, this whole notion of Caleb Williams or any QB being of weary of being drafted by the Bears is one big load of horsefeathers.  The only thing the Bears can blamed for is bad scouting and drafting flawed QB's, they didn't make or create any of their flaws.  If they can't coach Justin Fields to speed up processing and read defenses, then, conversely, if Fields had that ability, they, sure as horsefeathers, couldn't have coached it out of him.

unless he's hitting on students or abusing players, I don't know what he could do to get himself in trouble.

Gordon out two months with broken hand

Given the lack of a pass rush, Gordon' presence or not, doesn't make a bit of difference.

are we getting a week 2 thread or are we just going to keep bitching about the Bears each week in a continuation? I honestly, can't see any of the reasons for the bitching to change.

For whatever reason Jersey has created the game threads the last 2-3 seasons.  We usually just wait for him.  Nothing from preventing you from creating one

Time to give Terrel Smith a look see. He supposedly had a decent camp. Of course, they were practicing against the Bears offense, so........

From the comments:

Earlier this week, new team president Kevin Warren, who was brought in to shepherd through a new stadium, waxed eloquently about how a new stadium will bring so much value to Bears fans' experiences. Unless all the seats are behind a brick wall, I don't see how that's possible.

Watching the Jordan Love QB school video was interesting.

1) the difference in timing, anticipation and release from fields is incredibly noticeable. Snap, drop, throw with a crispness that I have literally never seen from our guy.

2) he has serious accuracy issues.  Even when not pressured he's not putting the ball exactly where he wants to.

3) like everyone else said, it's impossible to be sure how good he is until he faces a defense that isn't this bad

Watch the QB school video and apologize.

I watched it. There were 3 plays he failed to throw down the field.

Time stamps 6:45, 8:58, 13:38, 30:04 (this is the one where he explicitly says Fields is masking his turning down the field throws down with checkdowns), 31:25, 36:11. 46:00, 47:22, 49:27.

9 plays where he explicitly blames Fields for not making a downfield throw.
