And he was given an opportunity to seize it

I wouldn't call 37 games, of which 10 of them he never saw the field, and 99 PA's an opportunity.  It was more like, "see, we called him up and he sucked, now stop talking about him."  He was not give an opportunity.

someone tell me which team i can make fun of

If the Mets are eating about 20-25M, it's a pretty good deal for both sides.

Brisby is the best

Grant Brisbee: Rich Hill is old enough to have thoughts and opinions on Mr. Roper versus Mr. Furley. He played the original Star Wars arcade game and marveled at how futuristic the graphics looked. He’s worn at least one Hypercolor T-shirt in his life, and he’s recorded mix tapes directly from the radio on his boombox. But he can still spin it. Have curveball, will travel.

Wow nice get for NY

Ryan Clifford is the other prospect. Fangraphs has him at a 45 FV, 138 wRC+ om A+ at age 20.

Dang.  I actually prefer Clifford to Gilbert.

Levine's tweets are so confusing.  I think he's saying the Mets are likely to trade him to the Cubs, but weird way of wording it.

Mets buying prospects for ten's of millions of dollars. Not dumb if you don't mind spending the money.

Ok, so what the hell are the Orioles doing? Tampa and Toronto make multiple deals. Houston and Texas make significant deals. Meanwhile the Orioles have added Shintaro Fujinami and that's it.

My guess is either they're in on one of these controllable players (maybe the Mariners for a younger arm + Ty France thing?, maybe Cease?) that is a pretty complicated, bigger deals, or its a scenario in which they are being overly cheap with their prospects in a sellers market.
