A KatyPerry handle does ring a bell from the PSD days lol.

Edit: There you go. I thought there was more to the handle.

I feel like the handle would have been wasted if it was just KatyPerry, since it worked in tandem with WetButt22. So KatyPerrybootyhole was actually an appropriate handle.

Yeah, if Dave wanted to be taken seriously he'd have to be something like DavesAnus420. With such a simple and boring name like "Dave" how can I even begin to believe the man has sources?

I think this dude has been proven to be legit.

Based on his followers there's a few decent ones in there. Does seem to have been out front on some Mets front office firings? If so that points to something. Hard to tell, as those four teams (minus the Angels) seem to be the four getting the most love right now in the media so kind of low hanging fruit plus his former team and LA rivals. Rangers being out might be notable, and lack of mention of the Giants might be interesting.

These smaller sources are always so hard to pinpoint. I'm sure some of them have some people they know and others are just riding coat tails. Some of them are Chris Cotello who ended up being a real journalist and now covers the Red Sox and most are just guys hoping to make it seem legit.

With Ohtani wanting to keep things low key, I highly doubt some no name Twitter guy is going to break any news. No team is going to leak any info to some random. It's just going to be an official announcement from one of the big names like Rosenthal or Passan.

Not if it is news of teams no longer being in contention for him. They don’t give a rip at that point about secrecy and telling someone they are out but these teams seem to still be in.

A Yamamoto doomsday scenario for New York baseball exists in which Shohei Ohtani chooses a team other than the Dodgers — semi-informed gossip about that scenario is rampant this week in baseball circles — leaving Los Angeles with hundreds of millions of dollars to lavish on Yamamoto

This guy has 25k followers, no idea if he knows anything, or what he's actually trying to say in his confusingly worded tweet.  The Cubs made an offer, but it wasn't good enough and now its down to LAD and TOR?

Edit:  reading some of his subsequent posts, I'm not sure he knows much.  Seems to be a Blue Jays guy

My gut says this goes down tomorrow.  We're getting increasing chatter about teams being out, and that's paired with a decent flow of player movement after things were absolutely frozen a week ago.  His decision last time came out lunchtime on a Friday (he probably made the call end of the day JPN time?), and tomorrow's the last Friday before the winter meetings.

Yeah tomorrow would make sense if this goes down before the meetings. Figure people are traveling and getting ready to travel on Saturday with the meetings kicking off Sunday evening.

He is followed by Craig Mish, who's the pre-emptive Blue Jays beat writer. Also followed by La Canfora, mostly NFL past though. With that said, I doubt any one has an idea of who it's down between. That seems pretty hard to know with how little leaks we're going to get on this.

Going through his timeline, this dude is ALL over the place and has some crazy takes. Under the initial tweet, he responded with that was his “prediction.” I put zero credence into anything this guy says.

I'll say this...all of those predictions would track. They're not crazy. That said, unless it's coming from Passan or Rosenthal or someone like that...I'm just going to ride the wave here on Ohtani. I don't think we'll see much from small fish here.

Sorry. I didn’t mean those predictions were necessarily crazy. I meant there are some on his timeline that are pretty wild. I posted what I did because in half of his tweets he’s saying the Blue Jays for Ohtani, then in this one he predicts Ohtani to the Dodgers. Which is why I said he’s all over the place. Also, he seems like a super big Blue Jay fan who struggles with the English language. I’m not sure what he says is exactly what he means. For example, on the initial tweet, he commented below saying that he said it was his prediction, but nowhere in the initial tweet did he say it was his prediction.

I wouldn't worry much about that. People like hedging bets. Recent rumors have had the Jays at the forefront as a team to not discount. Honestly, the quieter the Cubs are here, the better, IMO. The Dodgers and the Cubs just haven't been coming up as names as much as Toronto in the last 2 days and I think that's probably a good thing for both.

At one point, late in the offseason, the Phillies had the 3rd best odds to sign Harper. I wouldn’t discount Vegas odds, but I also wouldn’t let them worry me too much.

I will say this, if it isn’t the Cubs it better be the Dodgers. I can except that. I will believe there was nothing they could do to change his mind. But if it is the Blue Jays I would question why the Cubs couldn’t do more. Easy to say the Dodgers have more going for them then the Cubs. I have a hard time believing the Cubs FO couldn’t convince Otani they have more going for them than the Blue Jays.

Eh, I can accept Toronto. There's some fun talents there. Play in a dome; not outside. Get to play against the Red Sox and Yankees on the reg but not have to be on those teams. Bichette and Vlad seem like fun young talents (and I know Vlad had a down year but I'd not be shocked to see a major bounceback). A handful of other good players. Tiedemann coming up soon. I'd get it.

I think in the end, if the Cubs lose him to anyone, I'll probably get it. I'll say this...I am pretty confident the Cubs are going to put out a very competitive contract to the Dodgers and the Blue Jays and the whomevers. I think in the end it'll be a choice of preference and sometimes you just can't win that.
