Yeah, go for the sweep because why not just reinforce how baseball makes no sense at all. Cubs getting killed by terrible teams for a month now, but hold the best team in baseball to 1 run over 2 games. Completely and totally predictable.

Baseball is a silly game.

And not even the weirdest thing to happen the last two days because the A’s beat the Braves twice.

Steele is out of the game after shaking his left arm during the 3rd inning, I'm sure nothing bad will happen there

Definitely nothing to be concerned about there. A stud young pitcher coming out of a game early with arm/shoulder discomfort never leads to anything significant.

"Day to day" until his spot comes up in the rotation, then just skipping one start, then 4 days later to the IL.

I'm not watching so I'm confused about people here saying something about discomfort and on twitter they are saying he's sick?  I would hope that if they let him finish the inning, taking him out is precautionary but probably not because its a pitcher and we're not allowed to have nice things.

This Tauchman NPC is hitting .367

I was looking at his numbers last night because I had no idea where he came from or what kind of player he was and was surprised to see the really solid MiL numbers and good numbers in the one season he got regular ML playing time.  Seems like he's been a fringy guy who never really got a chance and may have been a victim of circumstance. All that to say he's not really this good but I think it's possible he's a serviceable big leaguer.

Day 3: He threw a side session

Day 5: Going to use the off day to move his start back a couple of days

Day 8: Needs TJS

He was shaking his arm a bit. I heard it but wasn't near the TV at the time. Maybe that was coincidental but if a pitcher is shaking their arm and then leaves the game, I think it's probably discomfort of some kind.

He's also a local dude that went to my high school (Fremd) and in addition to baseball he was their QB/DB and once intercepted Jimmy G while he was at Rolling Meadows.  Interesting dude.

Boog and JD were talking about him giving a little arm shake before Ross popped out of the dugout and speculated there may have been something in addition to that pregame that nobody really knows about.  It didn't look like whatever the arm shake was affected him because he threw a FB later in the AB at 93 and that's about the top end of his velocity.

I flipped it on right as this was starting so I might be missing other context, but Steele's reaction was very slight(the broadcast barely caught him shaking his arm in slow mo) so it's possible it was a twinge that went away or he's having a classic Bryant day game illness and couldn't go further.  Or he just Chet Steadman'd his way through the rest of this inning and he'll never pitch again.

We’re only a third of the way into the season and Steele is already 50 innings from his professional career high in innings.

I’m sure the Cubs are going to use any reason at all to limit his innings from time to time.
