So if you follow the Jimmy Johnson chart, the difference between 1 overall and 2 overall is roughly a mid-2nd round pick. And if you compare the difference between 1 overall and 4 overall which the Bears could have fallen to with a win, the difference is roughly the 12th overall pick. Great day for the organization. Now lets never do this again.

You're welcome, now please give the Colts a good deal on the #1 pick!

This way you get your pick of QB's instead of taking whichever one the Texans didn't want. Smart tanking by the Colts.

Still a little upset the Bears don't also hold pick number 32. But hey great catch today Chase.

Current draft picks:

1 (1)

2 (56)

3 (65)

4 (103)

4 (133)

5 (136)

5 (150)

7 (220)

There's like a 35% chance passing on Young because we are sticking with Fields becomes one of those "how the bears never have a good QB" horror stories

It's absolutely not worth thinking about this kind of thing.

Just revel in the joy of our GM having an insane dream scenario: unlimited money and unlimited draft capital. He can do whatever he wants with the team. So if he's good, thats great. If he's bad, well, we'd be bad anyway and he can display it all in one year.

Sorry I've talked myself into it. I want bryce young

Shocker. I'll take Justin Fields and Will Anderson plus another 1st and some other early round picks.

I've been clear about my vision for the Bears since before we even drafted fields. I want an elite pocket passing game. Screw defense, screw running the football.

If fields is everything we want him to be, he can fetch just as much of a trade haul as the pick can

Yeah, unless Bryce Young is an Andrew Luck type of talent then it's pretty much a no brainer. Also, I can't take the thought of Fields going elsewhere to be a franchise QB while Young busts and another terrible chapter is written into Bear QB history.

The ideal IMO is to trade down to 4 (decent chance Colts end up there?). You still get one of Carter/Anderson, and you probably end up with at least a 2023 2nd and a 2024 1st. It's not the insane haul of picks you get by dropping down to e.g. the Panthers down at like 9/10, but I'll take the relative bird in hand in this situation.

I realize this is extremely unlikely and unwise but, hypothetically speaking, what if Poles really wanted to draft his own QB at #1? What would Fields' trade value be?

Can we please not do this horsefeathers?

It is not happening.

A high 1st and 2nd round pick

I kind of want the haul from trading down to #4, then the haul for trading down to #9.

It's a long offseason. You got better things to do?

Good thing Fields is fully capable of carrying an elite passing game.

Just try and enjoy it when it happens.
