In looking at what teams remain in the South bracket is there any reason to not believe Arizona' going to roll over all of them?

I think Nova can give them a game. On the off chance Michigan gets past Nova, Arizona already demolished Michigan in a neutral site game this year and they are a terrible matchup. I don’t know much about TCU this year so who knows

While Michigan and Illinois haven’t been too friendly to each other the last 2 years, I do feel bad for Illini fans for the draw they’ve gotten the last 2 years.

Last year as a 1 seed they had to play the number 10 KenPom team in the 2nd round. This year as a 4 seed they had to play the number 2 KenPom team. That’s really horsefeathers luck

I honestly don't believe its luck, its surely by design, for whatever reason the NCAA is out to horsefeathers over Illinois and I don't know why. The only thing Underwood can do is keep getting them in, one of these years, despite the NCAA' efforts, the match up dominoes are going to fall the Illin' way.

Shouldn’t this be moved to the conspiracy theory thread?

Yeah, point taken twice, it was an illogical over reaction on my part.

Wisconsin’s 1-15 from 3 is gonna revert to the mean at the worst possible time

I don’t think so, not tonight.

usually takes 3-4 years of watching a guy play against my team twice a year before I really hate a player, but davison pulled it off in a mere 40 minutes.

I'm not sure how applicable it is to the rest of the Big Ten, but effectively the in-conference strategy against Illinois in conference the past two years has been to just beat the horsefeathers out of them, the refs won't call everything.

After 20 games of that, turns out Illinois was beat up and not at 100% for the tournament.

I think the officiating needs to be tighter in conference to curb that kind of play, or else it just gets out of hand.

The strategy in the tournament was the same. Turner ran a montage on defending Kofi and it was just guys smacking him on the arm over and over. They weren't alone, Baylor was allowed to foul Carolina over and over without a whistle because they were down big and then the refs rode the momentum.

Quite the fall for Auburn

The whole SEC really.

No 2 Kentucky lost first round

No 2 Auburn lost second round

No 3 Tennessee lost second round

No 6 Alabama lost first round

No 6 LSU lost first round

No 4 Arkansas struggled to beat the 12 and 13 seeds.

Big ten is right behind them. This is a Sunday massacre if Purdue can’t win.

Rutgers loses in First Four

Indiana gets blown out in the first round

Iowa loses to a 12 seed in the first round

Michigan State loses in second round

Illinois loses in second round

Ohio State loses in second round

Wisconsin loses in second round

A 17-14 Michigan team and possibly Purdue have to carry the torch for the conference

Sports has a way of hunting your weaknesses. ND couldn't rebound all damn year and it leads to losing a game to a team that didn't make a single horsefeathering field goal for the final 8 minutes until 5 seconds to go.

A great finish that totally vindicated the season but that one will sting a while.

True. Big 10 at least had some teams play to seed though in Indiana, MSU and OSU. Plus Illinois arguably did also and Rutgers is a First Four team. The SEC would be projected for 12 wins playing to seed and even if Arkansas wins the title they’ll only be at 8.

But yeah, not a great tourney for the Big 10 either.

Meanwhile the ACC got trashed all year and has been great in the tourney.

I can't believe my Boilermakers shot 46 freaking free throws. I could tell early on they were going to get to the line, but Christ. Texas was so freaking aggressive.

It looks like an ideal path tot he Final Four for Purdue... but the Purdue fan in me is [expletive] his pants.

And Texas only shot 12. That’s quite a disparity.

Texas clearly had a plan to try to be super physical and if they foul, so be it. They stuck to that game plan and to their credit, it carried them deep into the game to give them a chance. Painter made a few defensive adjustment that I believe to be the difference in the game.

I think you guys are going to do it. Would be great to see. As a Big Ten rival, this Purdue team is extremely likable.
