Guess it goes without saying but Bama’s OL against a G5 DL is a major mismatch.

Yeah, Cincy simply can't stop the run. It's going to be a long day

Sucks because their pass D is so good but based on what we’ve seen so far Bama is just going to keep running it up the gut until UC proves it can stop them

Robinson Jr. with over 200 rushing yards.

Well this has been disappointing to say the least. Hope UGA/Bama is a good game.

This is why I hate college football. Yes my team is getting curb stomped but the parity is terrible.

And here I thought Michigan had a fairly decent chance tonight, really did. Could it be the old heat and humidity plus SEC team with speed curse again?

I would like to see bowl games split between southern and northern cities at some point. It's a huge advantage that every bowl is essentially a home game for every southern team.

It’s just a talent disparity. Same thing when people get skull drugged by Bama.

In the last 5 recruiting cycles, Michigan’s average class ranking is 14th, whereas Georgia’s is 2nd.

Silly me .... I didn't realize that the group of 5 team was playing Georgia in the second game ... I thought they were playing Alabama in the first game.

Still trying to figure out what made people think UM had a chance. :nono:

Heck UM is ranked higher.

I never expected to see this kind of Men vs. Boys game. I figured UGA would win but not like this.

Georgia probably has 3rd string players that would start for Michigan. The difference between 2nd and 14th is probably the same difference between 14th and 40th.

It sucks, this is why I always say I don’t like college football as much as other sports. Sour grapes sure but there are seemingly always 2-3 teams that are ridiculously better than the next best teams

I don't know how long you mean by always but the disparity is clearly bigger now than it's ever been. Every year Bama or Georgia sets a new record for highest average star rating in a class or whatever.

And you can expand the playoff, fine, but playoff stuff is incidental to the talent accumulation. Kids go to Bama and Georgia because they have better facilities, crazy fan support and it's closer to home for most of them than going to a Midwest or West Coast school. Their playoff domination is just an outgrowth of that.

You’re not honestly this naive are you? None of those things are why 5 stars go to Bama and Georgia. C’mon bro.

Well, ok, yes, other stuff too but if you believe the bagmen stories that stuff happens everywhere down there and yet they do it way better than the others (except Texas A&M this year apparently)

This season is probably the worst possible outcome for UM.

Had Ohio St. not had ( for them ) a down year they would have stomped UM like usual.

Michigan could then have moved on to a new coach since Harbut would then have been 0 for ever against Ohio St.

With UM's Alumni base and the new NIL they can pay as much as the SEC for players.

With a new coach who would recruit AND develop QB's they could actually compete against the elite teams. For example this Georgia team with a problem in the secondary.

Now however UM is stuck with Harbut. Beating Ohio St. this year and making the Semi has probably bought him at least 3-4 more years of winning 10 and being blasted by the Buckeyes.

It does happen everywhere down here and up north too (5 stars don’t choose UM or OSU for free) but Bama and Georgia have better “networks” than most. Kirby Smart implemented the Saban model at Georgia.

Take Nakobe Dean, the LB for Georgia. He’s from just 45 minutes away from Ole Miss. He was an Ole Miss commit since 9th grade. Two of his brothers played at Ole Miss. He was as solid as a commit as we had. Then the week of signing day Georgia offers him 425k and offers to relocate his mother to Athens. No shock where he ended up signing.

With NIL deals, this sorta thing is just going to get worse now that it can be done “above board.”

NIL has pretty much eliminated the bag man concerns haven’t they? We’ll see if things change. Also with transfer rules changing perhaps we see 5 stars commit to Bama and then leave after 1-2 years because they are not playing enough.

I do think that more teams in the playoffs will spread out the talent at least a little bit. Exposure of the playoffs isn’t a huge reason why blue chips choose Alabama but it’s definitely an additional advantage in their favor. Maybe a few players in California end up going to USC instead of Alabama for instance

At Alabama they attract talent because they produce NFL players. It’s like a kind of momentum. Saban knows how to prepare these kids to be ready. He’s created a culture. It helps that he also has the highest paid assistants and great college town, but it’s about his process and what he does that sets him apart. I think it’s him, then every other program bunched together, more or less.

What the horsefeathers is this? Lmao

Btw Ohio State is still by many metrics the 2nd best team in college football and best offense. Down year my ass
