Big Trev looked pretty good. I think he’s going to be a Hammel/Feldman type. Some blow ups but in the end 3.9-4.5 ERA ball keeping us in most games. Nico looks good too and hopefully Vargas keeps hitting, so hopefully those two continue that to keep Sogard at the alt site or just cut.

I feel way better than I think I should about this year's pitching staff.

Me too

I'm also weirdly glad that the pitching staff projects as *awful* rather than just kind of blah. We're going to know very quickly if Hottovy is magic, or if we should start coming up with hypothetical deadline trades.

To me, it's pretty much all about Kimbrel. If he locks down the ninth, the rest of the bullpen should fall into place and be pretty good. If he fails, the whole thing could fall apart.

The rotation is going to be better than it looks on paper.

This tweet isn't about Maples, but I think it's pretty clearly what the Cubs are doing with him as well

I kinda like this team overall. I'm not expecting a juggernaut or anything but I think some in the local media are overestimating how likely it is this team will sell in July. I'm expecting a big bounce back from the stars, and while the overall return is still a little odd to me, Davies is a good pitcher.

I know the Indians have a horsfeathers offense, but Mills is getting a lot more swings and misses than I'm accustomed to from him. Particularly for such a lefty heavy lineup.

Plus let some of these spring ABs be real indicators, Nico

Please let that inning be an indicator of absolutely nothing, Craig

Welp, I’ve got some bad news.

Hulk Hogan refers to himself as “Hulkster”

I think that proves my point.

Javier Baez going by “Javy” really grinds my gears

Javy is a contraction of Javier. It's not a nickname given to him...and it's not Boog.

Just let the man go by whatever name he wants to go by. If Boog stuck it stuck. Period. I mean he’s a baseball announcer (a really good one). It’s not like he’s holding a high political office. He talks about baseball (and to be honest I wouldn’t care if my Senator went by Boog if he was a good senator). It’s just an odd thing to care about.

For whatever reason Boog doesn’t bother me, but Booger MacFarland does.

Probably because Booger sucks

This is the correct answer.

I don't hate the team. I'm just not sure they've done enough to change the dynamic of the offense just has gone into several long swoons the last few years. Certainly will be better than last year assuming Javy and KB bounce back though.

In a way though, with expectations a little lower I think I may actually enjoy this season a bit more as they have a pretty good shot to exceed those expectations if things go right.
