Wholly horsefeathers you should hear this troglodyte with Len on the radio. He must be pulling his hair out.

darrin jackson? he seems pretty universally liked in town but i obviously haven't spent much time listening to white sox broadcasts. i'm sure he's better than dopey ass coomer.

anyway, in that regard, if len could deal with brenly, he can probably deal with this.

Good point. Jackson said that he thought pitchers really weren't throwing that fast. He seemed to indicate the new “technology” of radar guns aren’t accurate.

Let's get that FB up to 98, Kimbrel.

Last year he was a hilarious disaster for a few weeks, then wobbly but mostly effective for a few weeks, and then dominant from then onwards. The same trajectory would have him hitting dominant right around opening day.

So.....Dillon Maples this spring:

4 Outings - 21 batters faced, 6 strikeouts, 0 walks, 1 dong, 10 groundballs

I don't want to get worked up over 4.1 ST innings, and the balls he's allowed in the air have seemingly all been stung, but it's hard to not notice this what he's doing with his new delivery.

5 Outings - 26 batters faced, 9 strikeouts, 0 walks, 1 HBP, 1 dong, 10 groundballs

I assume Brothers is the second lefty to open the year, but I'm rooting for Wieck to take the job quickly

Kimbrel hit 98 according to the broadcast. He was mostly good, but the command is still coming on a bit. Definitely good enough that any concern from his first few outings has subsided for me.

Between that and the KB homer, it was a good day.

I know it’s spring training, but I must say the Cubs have looked very good so far. Edited by CubinNY

Like Brett says I'm pretty sure this applies to Alzolay. So these appear to be the seven locks to make the pen:

Kimbrel

Chafin

Workman

Adam

Winkler

Tepera

Alzolay

And then there's been back and forth on whether they're going with 8 relievers or nine. So one or two spots for Shelby Miller, Rex Brothers, Dillon Maples, or Pedro Strop. I would think Miller and Maples, but I could see any of those four.

Haven't seen a velo reading yet, but if his curve is doing this and he's sitting 93 we've basically got 2017 Jake back

I wonder if this plus the Alzolay option news plus Maples' outing tonight mean the pen is sorted?

Kimbrel

Workman

Chafin

Tepera

Winkler

Adam

Brothers

Shelby Miller
