That doesn’t help

Although if it makes us feel any better, his career slash away from Coors is .263/.322/.471, 79 OPS+

If only we could count on that, but it's been well documented that the wildly different things the ball does in Colorado screws with guys when they're away from Colorado, so he'll probably be awesome.

People usually become better when they put on the Cardinals uniform for whatever reason

I'm sure someone STL has given away in one of these trades since Dan Haren in the Mark Mulder deal has turned out to be pretty good, but I don't remember any of them.

I mean good for them, they see a time when they actually have a chance to be better than the Cubs on paper for the first time in like 5 years. But if you come at the king you best not miss. Especially with how that contract will look if he doesn’t make the post Coors adjustment.

This is very good news. If Arenado's still a superstar he won't be there the full term.

He makes $31 million and nobody is getting that money anymore

Counterpoint: he’s really good at baseball.

Yup. That 5 years was just a huge chunk of history when you think about it.

Huge.

I’m not sure how old you are, but based on the demographics of this board, there’s a decent chance that you remember a grand total of one more WS title for your team than I do for mine.

besides the current economic situation in baseball, hard to believe those opt outs happening right before or right after either the players get screwed in the new CBA or there's long terrible lockout and then the players get screwed in the new CBA

You don’t know that

The Rockies are reportedly kicking in 50 mil for the mostly middling prospects.

I know this is a Cubs board, but the Cardinals just horsefeathering stole him.

You guys excited about Arozarena this year?
