He wasn’t sorry for what he said, he was begging for his job. Hiding behind his religion and apologizing to Fox. What a douchebag.

on the bright side, if he gets fired he could probably be a keynote speaker at the RNC next week, railing against cancel culture.

If you're gonna call a homerun during an apology for using a slur on air, at least have some balls and put a little life into the call. C'mon man, Nicky C just went yard!

I love the “that’s not who I am” part. Like, anything you’ve said at your job, you’ve almost certainly said or expressed in your private life also.

Didn’t realize that many Reds fans disliked him (I know, small sample of fans on the internet). Always thought it was how White Sox fans loved Hawk because he was their guy.

They probably deleted a good hundred posts from the thread. There were bonkers defenders. Grade A schadenfreude.

Also it's like "that's not who I am"... Mf'er you literally said it like 10 minutes ago. That's EXACTLY who you are. These aren't unearthed comments from 1997.

god damn it's brutal to watch someone realize they fucked their entire life up in real time on live tv.

That makes more sense then. I only read the first 3-4 pages but most of it was criticizing him and saying he won’t be missed.

ohhhhh, he didn't know that the word was bad

“I used a word that is both offensive and insulting. In the past 24 hours, I have read about its history; I had no idea it was so rooted in hate and violence and am particularly ashamed that I, someone who makes his living by the use of words, could be so careless and insensitive. It’s a word that should have no place in my vocabulary and I will certainly never utter it again.”

in the year 2020 a 56 year old man claiming he didn't know it's a bad thing to say is almost more offensive than saying it.

My first instinct was to wonder why he thought that apology was a good thing to say but then I remembered he was someone who casually drops homophobic slurs at work and then it made a lot more sense.

So the Reds are gonna support his moment of enlightenment and road to rehabilitation huh

I'm sure they're going to do the right thing and fire... the producer who left his mic on.
