Astros about to drop to 6-9 (nice) and while it’s too early to say “wow look how bad they are when they aren’t cheating”, they don’t look like the same team to me. Maybe it’s just a slow start but I’m enjoying it, especially with Altuve, Bregman and Springer all struggling.

I've been closely watching those guys + Yelich and really loving the small sample size struggling (particularly at home!) of all the known cheaters

Never would have expected every other NLC team besides the Cubs be under .500 3 weeks into the season after all the talk about how competitive the division would be.

Bo Bichette > Vlad Jr?

Never was a question IMO.

The physical appearance/defensive play did play a role in that opinion a couple years ago for me, but the way BB just rakes played a bigger role

White Sox just went back to back to back to back dingers against the Cards - Moncada, Grandal, Abreu and Eloy.

Only took them 3 games to show up in that series

Fernando Tatis jr is so damn good. That trade will haunt rich Hahn for the rest of his life.

Is it basically the mlb equivalent of Ryan pace trading up to take trubisky over mahomes?

I think it would’ve been more drafting Mahomes and trading him for the corpse of Rivers or Manning with all the money attached to them.

Woodward mad about the Tatis Grand Slam on 3-0 count.

Hosmer gave Tatis a “talk” on the bench.

Jayce Tingler, new school name old school mentality, threw Tatis under the bus after the game.

They are all lame.

Open letter to Jayce Tingler (I'm writing off the Rangers because whiny bitching and moaning from the other end of the 'unwritten rule' violation apparently will never end):

If you don't want your superstar player to hit a grand slam when you're already up big, take him out of the game and sub in some horsefeathering scrub that won't hit a grand slam. And kindly shut the horsefeathers up and never open your fat yap about this topic again.

Thank you.

Iglesias just balked in the tying run in the bottom of the 9th. Of course that happens to the Cardinals, who are about to walk this off

I think that’s a good thing for us. Bury the Reds. The cardinals are going to die on their death march, they have a double header a week the rest of the way and 2 weeks with 2 double headers and only 2 off days. That also gives us some margin to win only 2 of 5 in cincy next weekend.

The balk was obviously bad but Iglesias also fucked up a tailor-made double play when he tried to field Molina's bases loaded grounder heading right to the SS.

That would have been an extremely hard loss to swallow as a fan.

Of course Brad Killer had to start the rally as well.

Yeah I think in a short season the Reds scare me more. That front three in the rotation and a dong heavy offense probably doesn't keep up with the Cards for 162 but for 60 and in the playoffs it's way scarier.

What's really going to scare people around here is that the Brewers, Cardinals and Reds all are favored to make the playoffs together.
