Imagine the horror of being a Cardinals fan:

Now wake up to the reality of being a Chicago sports fan:

Both are, however, preferable to the terrible luck of being born a Brewers fan:

Hopefully Hendricks isn't Bantha poodoo like he was last time out. And hopefully Bryant's hamstring hasn't aged as much as his shoulders. That Baez guy is pretty cool....and all the rest.

It'd be really cool if they wanted to move one of these games up to today.

You want another rainout?

You know what I mean. Fine, I'll settle for it being really cool if it could just be tomorrow.

This is the Cubs 5th off day in the last 20 days. In our last 43 days of 2018 we had 1 true off day, and 1 off day spent waiting in a clubhouse for the game to get called.

That said it’s been super helpful in skipping 1 Lester start when he was injured as well as giving Willson days off while still starting every game with Caratini injured

When do they throw at Kris for his “boring” comment?

Oh god I forgot those horsefeathering meatballs are going to do this

Yeah, hopefully they just hit him in the ass or back and that’s the end of it and we get the free base runner and then we hope KB finishes the job he started last year and takes Yadi’s other nut this weekend.

I'm really enjoying the thought of Flaherty, their one good and healthy starter, getting tossed two batters into the game because, Yadi Molina has a trump-Ian level of thin skin.

Flaherty has been slightly better against lefties than righties since last year, so not sure why Descalso over Bote. But other than that, no Almora = good line up.

It's interesting how Heyward continues to hit at the bottom of the order despite a good start. Is this Joe expecting a course correction (for the worse) for Heyward?

Aren't we all?

A view it as more of a "don't talk to the pitcher during a no-hitter" situation.

Even if you think that Heyward is permanently fixed going forward, you're going to objectively prefer Zobrist, Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Contreras, and Schwarber over him. Add in that even a good/fixed Heyward isn't an OBP machine and it makes sense that in most lineups he's going to stay in the bottom 3rd.

Yeah, but does anything change if we had Burnitz on the roster instead of Schwarber?

The over/under on the # of HRs the buck ninety-eight hitting Chris Carpenter hits this series.

What say you?

I'd take the under on Matt Carpenter for like $5

I'd take the under on Chris Carpenter for $1000000
