I just realized the Steelers missed the playoffs. horsefeathers yeah! There was nothing more disgusting about the NFL this year than everyone willingly pretending losing Le’Veon Bell was no big deal. This league works pretty hard to diminish the reputation, impact, and accomplishments of individuals who don’t play QB (big mystery as to why), especially if electing FA over a team friendly extension, so a moment like this is fun.

You also had the Redskins missing the playoffs after losing Smith and deciding Mark Sanchez’s corpse was a better option than Kapernick They’d go 1-5 with Sanchez and Josh Johnson, where 3-3 with a split with the Eagles put them in the playoffs

Colts, Chargers, tossup, and Bears are my picks for the weekend

I know Conner and Samuels filled in pretty well in Bell's absence, but I'm under the impression Bell will still be the fall guy even if Antonio Brown is trying to deflect blame. There were some lost games where Bell could have pushed them over the top. Most specifically is the tie game against Cleveland early on. Given how well Conner and Samuels did in Bell's absence, I'm curious how many teams will be willing to pony up a number equal to or better than what Pittsburgh was offering this past offseason, which I seem to recall averaged 15 million over 3 years in guaranteed money. Still, I love the controversy there as I'm not a fan of any of the Steeler fans I know.

Got my picks in for the pool I'm in. This is a fun one with hundreds of participants. Wild Card weekend picks are worth 3 points. Divisional game weekend is worth 4 points. Conference championship games are worth 6 points and Super Bowl pick is worth 8. Then there is the total points combined of the Super Bowl for tiebreakers.

I'm taking Baltimore, Houston, Seattle and Chicago in week 1, KC and Houston and NO and Chi in week 2 and KC and Chi going to the Super Bowl. And I'm picking the Bears to win it all because I am a homer. I mean, it hasn't even been a full year since a 2nd year QB won a Super Bowl (even if it was Foles that played). Might as well have two of them battling it out for it this year.

I'm enjoying the idea that the field is pretty wide open this year, especially compared to some past years where the final four seemed predetermined

you might need to double that Colts score and divide Houston’s by half.

According to @ProFootballDoc, team docs can’t travel across state lines with pain killers. Had this injury happened to a Seahawks player, he wouldn’t have received any meds immediately. Not sure if EMTs at the stadium can administer anything.

Worst onside kick attempt ever?

I know the guy isn't a regular kicker, but at least just have him put the ball on the tee and boot it on the ground towards the other team and hope for a lucky bounce/muff.

Yeah, made no sense to me.

Allen Hurns: holy horsefeathers buddy I wish you a speedy recovery

That looked really bad. You could actually see it pop.

I was packing up to drive back from Chicago, so my dad has this game on while I was coming in and out of the room. The most football I've seen in years, and I got to see that.

Fuckin' football.

It's bad enough the Bears lost but, what's more annoying is listening to another round of Eagles gypsy magic [expletive]. Believe the Saints are going to be a resounding end to that nonsense.
