well this is weirder than getting the SNF game ball

Reminder, he kicked a kick-off out of bounds this week.

The Bears went for 2 on the next score after he kicked the kickoff out of bounds. Was Nagy punishing Parkey there or did he really want an 11 point lead?

Short week, Trubisky hurt. I have no expectations for this game.

I'm especially worried about the defense.

Trubisky hurt, Shaheen and Sims out, and you’re worried about the best defense in the NFL?

They sure do like to get ripped when they're tired. And I assume they'll be tired.

couldn't be less worried about this game in any capacity. the lions are a dumpster fire and without their only two good players. daniel will be asked and able to manage the game and the defense will be all over stafford. bears by 13+

Is it accurate to say teams have moved away from throwing the ball to the side of the field that Fuller' working? I maybe incorrect but, Sunday night Diggs did seem to be a factor until the Vikings moved him to Amukamara' late in the game. If teams are trying to stay away from Fuller, one would expect the Lions to try and lineup Golliday against Amukamara as much as possible. Given this, along with Golliday being the Lions only deep threat - Jones is out - do the Bears try to give Prince help?

Not accurate. Vikings completed 8 of 10 for 80 yards against Fuller. He still gets a lot of targets his way.

But Diggs wasn't as big a factor with Fuller on him because the Bears were actually trying to play real defense early in the game.

That being said, Fuller is very good. Wasn't his best have, but acceptable.

I said this about 11 days ago, but the Lions trading Golden Tate really hurts their short game. I'd be more worried if Tate and Riddick were both quick game options, but Roquan and Trevathan will likely take turns mirroring Riddick or Zenner. Blount got 4 yards on 6 carries in the previous meeting. Stafford can't run all that well, so that's one less thing the defense has to worry about.

Offensively, I'm sure Detroit is expecting a conservative game from Daniel. But, with Nagy and Daniel's experience with Nagy's system, I wouldn't be too quick to think it will be all about ground and pound. Work the opposite side of the field from Slay and let the speedsters do their usual magic after the catch.

Well, should be an interesting one today. It's been speculated that because this is Daniel's 4th or 5th year in the Nagy system, that the whole offense will be available today....maybe even moreso than with Trubisky, who has 10 games in the system......I don't think that will be the case from a physical standpoint. Daniel simply can't throw the ball like Mitch can. A lot of the deep stuff won't be available, which may be good or bad depending on how you feel about Mitch's deep ball ability. The key is going to be how Daniel handles the 10-15 yard throws. Trubisky has been really good in that area.

Kevin White active today. With 240lb Ben Braunecker being the biggest active TE today, watch for White a lot in the run game helping to block on the edge. Good day to get Jordan Howard going. Probably going to have to soften up the defense with Daniel to get that to happen though.

Defensively, you hate to ask them to step up and carry the team again on short rest.....but it's what elite defenses do. Lions don't have a ton of weapons out there. They still have a DL that isn't great and are terrible in coverage other than 1 player. They have an OL that gave up 6 sacks 11 days ago to this very defense. And it's going to be hard for Detroit to adjust offensively without their top WR and RB.

I'm expecting a Bears win, but it may be ugly. I'd really like a scripted opening drive TD to have the D and backup QB playing with an early lead.

Well hopefully they can win because unless they tie again, either the Packers or Vikings will be back to 0.5 games back on Sunday if they don’t. That said because they both have a tie, tiebreaker are a lot less of a concern so it doesn’t really matter too much if the loss is divisional or not.

If the Packers win, the worst the Bears will be up is 1.5 games.

Rooting for another tie. But if one of them has to win, I guess it depends on what the Bears do today.

Lose, and I'd rather the Packers win. 1.5 games up on both teams with both of them almost playing sudden death football for the final 5 weeks of the season.

Win, and I'd rather the Vikings win. Still 1.5 up on the Vikings and the Packers would be all but eliminated. That means maybe they sit Rodgers with his knee injury and essentially give up on the season. Or if not, the Bears would have a good chance to eliminate them in a couple weeks.

Yeah whoops. Good call. Like the idea of throwing the first 3 plays but Daniel certainly looked off
