Forget about the quality of the throws. What I couldn't get over was how quickly Trubisky was making the reads all day. It was a complete 180 from previous games.

He looked like he had no problem identifying the coverage and looking through his progressions all over the field and finding the right guy at the right moment in their routes. None of that "Oh, he's open but I wasn't looking, and I looked there a half second later but the defense had closed by then" garbage.

That's why the fourth TD was my favorite. Watch the replays and look at how his head swivels around through a bunch of reads in a second before he recognizes that the defense had overcommitted to the flat and there must be a receiver open on his left, who he hits immediately.

So my "he's still learning the offense theory" may be a good stance to have taken? I'll be the first to agree he's looked like garbage the last 2 weeks.

Goff thru 15 games: 259-449, 3119 yards, 18 TD, 11 INT, 82.25 QB rating

Wentz thru 15 games: 352-564, 3537 yards, 14 TD, 14 INT, 78.15 QB rating

Trubisky thru 15 games: 268-434, 2784 yards, 9 TD, 10 INT, 77.6 QB rating

Game 16.

Trubisky- 19-26, 354 yards, 6 TD, 0 INT, 154.65

Goff- 25-37, 355 yards, 3 TD, 0 INTs, 125.4 QB rating

Wentz- 27-43, 245 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT, 93.7 QB rating

Clearly Mitch is the best of the group.

Definitely didn't see that coming. Let's hope he can stabilize this into being solid the rest of the year. He reads were MUCH better, that's for sure.

Wish Hicks hadn't done that though.

There's also his 17 rushes for 117 yards, which would pace to 68/468.

Mitch still looked a bit shakey at the start of the game, but basically was prime Aaron Rodgers after that first TD. I'm hoping that pass got the monkey off his back, restored his confidence and he's good to go from here on.

Also, the line was amazing today, I hope they get their due credit.

He had all day to throw against a terrible secondary. So many wide open throws, but him actually seeing them and making them is a huge step in the right direction.

My "prediction" on Facebook yesterday...

Dead on. Every single word. Bucs have allowed a ton to slot WRs and TEs in the middle of the field.

Juju Smith- 9/116

McDonald- 4/112, still about 75 yards without the stiff arm and run

Ertz- 11/94

Agholor- 8/88

Week 1, Michael Thomas had 16/180, and while I don't know the totals from the slot, I did find that he was targeted 11 times from the slot.

Corpse of Ben Watson also had 4/44.

Burton breakout game should happen tomorrow. Also, call me crazy, but I'm predicting a surprise game for Josh Bellamy as a WR

only the rams right now have a better point differential than the bears...obviously that's mostly today, but just imagine if god mode rodgers hadn't come into play week 1

really wish the bye wasnt this early in the season, both for health/rest reasons later in the year and wanting to see the continued progression/momentum for the offense.

Yeah, they have some momentum going (3 straight) and are pretty healthy for the most part. Only injury they really need to heal is Amukamara, and they should beat Miami without him if they played next Sunday. Hopefully, that extra time after the Thanksgiving games serves as a 2nd bye week type of situation.

Agreed, but Shaheen, Prince, and Miller should all be healthy by week 6?

He raised his career passer rating by 7 points today.

I have to admit, I was happy the Bears got Mack, but I wasn't sure that they'd "win" the move given the price.

I was wrong. He was worth every penny of the deal plus the picks to get him.

Same sentiment here. I obviously knew he was a great player but I'm kinda stunned at the impact he's had. He is an absolute game changer.

Matt Nagy: Difference in Mitchell Trubisky was work – ProFootballTalk

“After the game I told him just how proud I am of him,” Nagy said. “I told him about three different times that this is just the start. I want this to be his offense. I want him to understand that he can take this offense to another level. He’s gone through a lot here in the last couple weeks and it’s not easy. But these are the days and the games that you never forget.

“I go back to this week. When everybody was gone after practice, Mitch stayed after practice and threw about 50 to 60 deep balls into a stationary net about 50 yards downfield. Him and Dave Ragone, our quarterbacks coach, they were dropping back … Dave was giving him some pressure in the pocket. Mitch would slide his feet and just throw. There was a span there where he hit 10 out of 12 into the net. Just like Michael Jordan shooting threes. [GM] Ryan Pace and I were standing back there watching him doing it and we just looked at each other. We said, This kid’s in a zone. He’s out there after a three-hour practice. For it to come to fruition today and see him have success with down-field throws, it was really cool.”

In his first three games, Trubisky had passer ratings of 77.2, 83.0, and 73.5. Yesterday, it was 154.6, and for Nagy, that’s a sign that someday his quarterback can be more than a passenger on a great defense.

This trade just keeps looking better and better as the Bears win games that I'm quite certain Oakland thought for sure they would lose. The Bears have a chance to push that 1st draft pick in 2019 down into the 20's and maybe even the late 20's if they keep winning. So Mack for a late first round draft pick in 2019 and then dropping down maybe 15 places at most in 2020 with the 1st and 2nd round swap and a 3rd rounder is an absolute steal.

I'm pretty sure Oakland believed all of the predictions that the Bears would be horrible this year and thought they would be getting a top 10 pick. Meanwhile Gruden keeps whining about not having a pass rush. Haha!
