I have to admit, I was happy the Bears got Mack, but I wasn't sure that they'd "win" the move given the price.

I was wrong. He was worth every penny of the deal plus the picks to get him.

This trade just keeps looking better and better as the Bears win games that I'm quite certain Oakland thought for sure they would lose. The Bears have a chance to push that 1st draft pick in 2019 down into the 20's and maybe even the late 20's if they keep winning. So Mack for a late first round draft pick in 2019 and then dropping down maybe 15 places at most in 2020 with the 1st and 2nd round swap and a 3rd rounder is an absolute steal.

I'm pretty sure Oakland believed all of the predictions that the Bears would be horrible this year and thought they would be getting a top 10 pick. Meanwhile Gruden keeps whining about not having a pass rush. Haha!

There's no pretty sure about it. There were multiple reports that the Raiders selected the Bears from similar packages because they figured the Bears picks were going to be the highest of the interested teams.

Bears now clear favorites to win the division, and nearly 80% to make the playoffs. DAVE, which at this point is I believe a 50/50 blend of how they were projected coming into the year and how they've played so far, has them as the third best team in the NFC (way behind the Rams, slightly behind the Saints, and slightly ahead of the Packers).

Hate to see the depth take a hit, but I think one of Irving or Fitts is ready to step in. Both have been game day inactives more than once already this season.

This year’s team is much better, but I think the Bears had the same probability after 4 games in Trestman’s first year

really wish the bye wasnt this early in the season, both for health/rest reasons later in the year and wanting to see the continued progression/momentum for the offense.

Agreed, but Shaheen, Prince, and Miller should all be healthy by week 6?

I'd imagine Miller will be able to go. Prince hopefully also. Shaheen is on IR designated to return though and he can't come back until after the 8th game.
