That's the first time Q didn't walk anybody in a game this year. Last time he didn't walk multiple batters was on April 28.

That's what's so weird about him. Like he hasn't been Chatwood or anything outside of two or three starts, and it's perfectly normal for any guy to have a handful of those a year, but he still had an 11.2% walk rate coming into today. He's just walked an extra guy per game for whatever reason this year.

*Please be assured I could not possibly give less of a horsefeathers if he was hotshot prospect #23 in the Dorkus Malorkus Book of Spells for Jerks at some point.

Yeah, I think he's pitched a lot better overall since that start against the Braves in May when he got rocked. Not giving up as many hits, HR rate has been normal. Plus, his exit velocity numbers have been good and he hasn't been getting barreled. He was getting hit really, really hard early in the year.

But... you can't keep walking guys like that. I think part of it was he was just timid and nibbling. But his walk rate has remained the same all year. And you simply can't walk that many guys.

It really amazes me how frequently pitchers throw the ball into center or get close to it on plays like that. Edited by soccer10k
