Well how about that, back in first place at the end of April for the 3rd straight year, 5 wins in a row in which the starters have given up 0 ER and overall pitching hasn't given up an earned run in 30+ innings, I dug in to the numbers and that's a good thing. The Rockies have a non-pitcher team wRC+ of 76, which isn't good. A true unstoppable force vs what looks to be a quite moveable object.

Time for the offense to wake up vs the guy taken after Bryant, which I believe history will say was the right call, and for the pitching to keep doing it's thing and us to win an easy one as the DONGS are lacking and the RD could use a boost after these 1-2 run wins. Hopefully Javy stops at his local sporting goods store on the way to the stadium to pick himself up a new glove as well.

Win you jerk faced idiots.

I’m finding myself irrationally disliking the Rockies this year so sweep them I guess

Nothing irrational about hating a team that hit Kris Bryant in the head and has a player who whines to the ump about Javy Báez trying to block him from stealing signs.

And whose manager argued with the ump in the 9th last night to not allow a replay of a clearly missed call, when it's commonplace for umps to review late inning plays without managers having challenges remaining.

Gray is pretty much all FB and hard Sliders, which seems like the exact type of RHP Almora and Javy would struggle against. Javy should probably stick in there for defense with Hendricks on the mound but Almora should probably sit or at least not lead off. I'd like to see

Zobrist RF

Schwarber LF

Bryant 3B

Rizzo 1B

Contreras C

Russell SS

Heyward CF

Javy 2B

Hendricks P

I think Almora's defense is preferable to Heyward's in center. After watching all of his glorious glove dongs the past week, I never want him to leave the lineup again.

The highlight reel catches are great but my hot take is he really isn’t all that great out there and over a full season I bet Heyward would grade out better. Jumping/diving/running catches don’t always equal a great fielder.

Greatest leadoff hitter of all time is back and Joe may be going mad and/or on a 5 day bender since he gets to drink wine after every win.

That is quite a hot take. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. Heyward has looked uncharacteristically shaky even in right field at times this year. I think he could be an excellent CF if he were to play it consistently, but since he doesn't, I believe that Almora's defense will be superior to his in CF.

Joe said earlier in the year he only gets to drink wine after wins because of a diet or something, my win streak powers may have sent him over the edge on a bender.

that has a definite picked names out of a hat vibe, or maybe he found the dusty dice laying around

Lineup is about “getting rizzo going.” I imagine we will hear as much from our drunken manager in a pregame interview.

Why the hell Russell is so high is beyond me, but I'm not surprised one bit that Joe is trying something to spark Rizzo.

I think Drinky Joe made that lineup by asking Javy to name all of his teammates and after Javy could only name Rizzo and Bryant, he just pointed at the next 7 guys who walked by.

He's been pretty "contacty" all year (though not great contact) it's not an awful idea to put him behind the 3 big OBP guys, also there's a ton of lefties in the lineup so he breaks them up a bit. Just my guess. Schwarbs should be hitting 4th and him 5th though, I feel like.
