As I'll be able to watch this game, I feel obliged to purchase some nachos on the way home.

But Belgian nachos probably have raw herring and mayonnaise on them

Raw herring is called "maatjes" and is a Dutch delicacy. Mayonnaise is ok to put on "frieten", providing it is home-made.

If they get the game in today, I may post a picture of my purchase.

Probably typed in "nacho angel" and then scrolled through like 100 pages of gifs til that one revealed itself unto his unworthy eyes.

Page one, baby.

So the Cubs will play their first home game on day 13 of the MLB season. I'm sure its happened before but I wonder when the latest into the MLB season a team has had their home opener.

I feel like one of the recent new stadiums was running behind and they knew it so they scheduled the team to play like 4 or 5 road series before coming home, but I can’t remember which one. Obviously a similar situation to the Cubs renovations.

Hopefully this means Rizzo is in the lineup tomorrow. Should’ve made them put a roof of some sort on Wrigley as part of the master renovation plan (only kinda joking).

Given their preseason expectations and the light schedule they've had so far, probably fair to say Pittsburgh has banked 2 wins already. That's nontrivial when it comes to wild card contention(and going back to the Cole trade I liked their outlook a bit better than the media consensus), but ultimately 9 games isn't going to make them a Brewers-in-'17-caliber annoyance.
Team contact is 80% and they have the lowest K rate at 15%, with a healthy 10% walk rate. They have several hitters playing over their heads right now but putting that many balls in play puts a lot of pressure on the defense. They've had a heck of a start to the season offensively. If they can keep up that kind of BBK they should be pretty dangerous to face.

The team offensive leaderboard is like the upside down right now. None of the top 5 were in the top 10 last year (Braves, Pirates, CWS were no better than 19th) and only 3 in the top 10 were top 10 last year.

That's because we're a week into the season.

Looking at the schedule, and I'd guess most teams have it somewhat similar since they started the year early to add a few extra off days and with the early season off day scheduling, but with how the off days fall moving forward the rotation gets to go on at least 1 day extra rest outside of this 2nd time through the rotation this coming weekend/next week until June.

this just in: all the snow in my back yard 31.2 miles southwest of wrigley has melted. this means the field is probably clean to play too.

This morning on 93.1, they had a recording of Kyle Hendrix intro'ing "voodoo child" by Jimi Hendrix and it was the greatest moment of my life.

He said "no relation" but I think he's just being modest.
