If the Cubs had kept all their players, it looks like they wouldn't have been able to make up many games on first place any way.

Turns out, the division really was decided in early July.

The Cubs conceded the day they traded Darvish.

Beginning to think the Cubs aren't going to win the division. Damn you Tom for getting our hopes up.

The VBs simply have to maintain first for 68 games/2.5 months with a still crap offense and alot of the meat on their pitching staff entering uncharted territory. What could go wrong?!

Looking back, is there a chance the VBs not only maintained their winning percentage but actually increased? It doesn't seem like they lose many games .

horsefeathers announces his retirement from being an horsefeathers on the baseball field

Did he ever even bother apologizing to the collector whom he accused of being a liar, a jealous cub fan and a racist?

99% chance that Dino put something in that food.

Kyle Boddy and the Reds have already gone their separate ways

He made a horsefeathers ton of money with nothing more than a slow-mo camera, spin rate data, and his secret cure (Spider Tack.) Spincinnati indeed. I respect the hustle actually.

How big of a damn lead did the Brewers have that the Cardinals could end the season on a 22-game winning streak, including winning seven against the Brewers, and still have been eliminated for the division title a week before the season ended?

Geez.

Geez.

I had the Cards for under 86.5 wins for the season. A month ago I thought it was over. Sad panda.

I don't root for injuries but I make an exception for self inflicted horsefeathers like this or anything related to sliding head first into first base

President of the Reds to fans mad about their sell off: Tough horsefeathers you have no choice but to root for us. At least PTR only says those things behind closed doors.

I am really starting to believe that the owners and management in baseball want to drive it into the dirt so they can ask the government for a bailout. I mean it is really the only thing that makes any sense.

Call his bluff. I know Rob Manfred is stupid, but he's not stupid enough to let a new owner move the oldest franchise in baseball to a random city.

Also, the Reds can take their "woe is me, what can you do in this type of market?" schtick and shove it. San Diego and Milwaukee are comparable markets with perennial contenders

I don't think you know what "perennial" means

More frequently than the Reds *shrug*

The Reds have 4 playoff appearances since 2010. The Padres have 1 and it was in the shortened year. The Brewers have 5 since 2010. Padres have gotten over 77 wins only twice since 2010.
