I don't see many matches there that excite me. Their minor league pitching is either really old, meh, or pretty far away. Price both has a shoulder injury and is ridiculously expensive. We won't get Sale. I want nothing to do with Porcello.

I guess Pomeranz would be a nice get, but he's a short-term asset.

Yeah, the Red Sox don't seem like a good fit.

Besides, I doubt Schwarber gets traded this offseason when his value is at an all-time low.

I’d do Schwarber and Happ for Price and Betts or Benintendi. Get Price back with Hickey and still sign Cobb then go 6-man rotation. But yeah don’t see a huge fit.

I mean, I'd do that too but Boston wouldn't. They can sign a first baseman to add power to the lineup without having to trade Betts.

Yeah I mean the thinking is they get out from Price, get their LH power bat that’s cheap, Happ can “replace” the OF that’s traded and could be Pedroia’s long-term replacement. It frees up money for them too if they’d want to say get in the Darvish, Arrieta, Lynn market. As I said there really isn’t a fit unless there’s some sort of bigger deal.

Price is intriguing.

I'd love to find a way to move a Heyward in a deal with a Price.

I really want Yelich or Benintendi at the top of the Cubs lineup for the next several years. I love Betts but I can't see the Sox moving him.

I’m just waiting for MLB to make some kind of rule that you can only have one player from Las Vegas on your roster.

And award the cardinals a competitive balance las vegasean

It won't happen because the Mets probably expect some sort of actual return. Personally, I'd like to add him. Because there's no way we'd go into the year counting on him. He'd just be depth.

If he costs something real, which I expect they will think he’s worth more than he is, absolutely no way. But if all he costs is like Caritini, sure fine.

I wouldn't even give up Caratini for him.

He’s probably the most I’d be willing to give up but yeah don’t overly care to get Harvey anyways. They can have like Bote and Zas and be happy with it or go horsefeathers off.

Yeah, hard pass on M. Harvey. I wouldn't even offer a non-prospect for him right now. I'm not saying he's finished, but he looked terrible last year. Maybe he needs to re-invent himself and become a relief pitcher like B. Morrow or W. Davis.

This offseason has a mid 1980s collusion feel to it. It could just be the contrast in quality from this years class to next years, but I can’t remember a time with so little movement this late in the off-season.

I'm surprised Boras has made that accusation yet. But in reality none of these guys are worth what they are asking at the top end and teams are smarter, Martinez, Arrieta, Darvish and Hosmer shouldn't be getting the $150-200+ mil 5-6+ year deals they apparently want and Cobb shouldn't be getting the $80 mil deal he wants. I don't blame them for trying but they all have flaws/flags that make those deals pretty easy to see they are huge risks and should be avoided at those costs.
