https://sports.yahoo.com/exclusive-federal-documents-detail-sweeping-potential-ncaa-violations-involving-high-profile-players-schools-103338484.html

Based on Friday's report, and documents obtained therein, schools that could potentially face NCAA repercussions include: Alabama, Clemson, Creighton, Duke, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, USC, Utah, Villanova, Virginia, Washington and Wichita State.

Notre Dame's involvement is that Demetrius Jackson had lunch with one of these agents once, possibly after he declared for the draft. I look forward to them receiving equal punishment to the most blatant offender in the case.

So who's excited for the tournament?

*crickets*

Always excited though the week off between the Big Ten season and the tourney is going to suck. I like watching the other conference tourneys though

Why the hell did the BIG move their tournament a week early other than they really wanted to play in MSG and it was already booked for the Big East for the normal weekend? They can’t really be making more money, can they? Chicago or Indy or wherever would sell just as many tickets and they already had games aired on CBS and always had their championship game being the lead in game on CBS to the selection show. Seems odd to me to move it because it was “cool” to play in MSG.

But yes overall I’m very excited for the tournament in 2 weeks.

The whole idea of adding Rutgers was to be able to be more relevant in the NYC market for TV and recruiting. This is just part of that

Yeah Delaney had offers to hold the tourney next week at Barclays and Prudential in Newark but he wanted the allure of playing at MSG. I have no problem having the tournament in DC or NY or wherever but having the tourney a week early caused logistical issues during conference play and like you said takes us out of the spotlight of being the lead in to the selection show.

Though maybe that’s for the better with how shitty most of the Big Ten has been this year.

Flip side of this argument, the B1G gets all the spotlight this weekend instead of sharing with other major conferences.

Of course, this will backfire when 13 seed Illinois inexplicably makes a run to the BTT final.

Delany most certainly did not have offers to hold the tournament at Barclays, because they're hosting the ACC tournament and are contracted to host the A-10 for at least the next 3 years. If he wanted NYC, this was his only play. Going to Prudential is probably the only thing that would've been dumber than what he did.

Of course, Delany's entire NYC gambit is a complete joke, and the fact that the B1G tournament is ever anywhere other than Chicago and Indy is dumb.

From what I understand the Barclays offer was made before the ACC was announced and the offer was also not necessarily locked in for 2018

So who's excited for the tournament?

*crickets*

I always am. It's my favorite sports time of year.

Same here. The first Thursday and Friday are better than anything, except the Cubs playing playoff baseball.

I haven't worked those first two days in probably close to 20 years. Everyone knows that's my "religious holiday" every year. Lol.

Same here. A group of friends and I get together every year on Friday for Christmas in March.
