Why? The only way that Series means anything is if the Brewers sweep all 4 games. If they take 3 of 4 the Cubs are still overwhelmingly in the drivers seat (2 games up with 9 other games to play). If the Cubs split the series the division race is effectively over. The chances of the Brewers winning all 4 games is very much unlikely.

 

Heck even if they win all 4 the Cubs have a better than 50% chance of winning the division I would guess

I honestly don't see a single permutation that puts anyone else as NL Central champs if the Cubs go 7-6 and win even one game in Milwaukee.

 

The most generous permutation for the Brewers gives the Cubs winning both in TB, all three against CIN, 2-2 vs STL, and dropping all 4 in MIL. MIL has to go 6-2 in the rest of their games to tie the Cubs in this situation. So if the Cubs win 7 of the next 13 and just 1 in Milwaukee, the Brewers can only lose 1 more game just to tie the Cubs.

they're third in the NL (1st place rockies have played one more game) in runs scored. 5th in MLB. 4th in baseball and 1st in NL in wOBA.

 

i get that there are high scoring games and low scoring games, but that's baseball. there's 162 games, so you'll see plenty of the extremes from time to time...i doubt they are considerably less "consistent offensively" than most good offensive teams.

 

 

sidenote: thought this was weird...while being 3rd in mlb and 1st in the NL in runs scored, the rockies are 27th in baseball with a wRC+ of 87 #-o

The play in game winner get the Dbacks...The Dbacks can beat LA ..Hopefully whomever the Dbacks get they can beat ...dont care one way who they play though..If it gives Milwaukee 1 night of joy to clinch the 2nd play in game qualification have it but us beating them at least 2 times this weekend would really be nice too
