1. It's insane to me that the Nationals are going to clinch before the Dodgers

2. Does anybody else not like this Dodgers struggle? I'd prefer they won 120 and then went cold in October, I just get a bad feeling of them limping into October and everybody laughing at them and then they flip it back on in October

I think you're alone on #2. horsefeathers them. Yes, I am bitter. But I am relishing every minute of this after all the stupid articles about them being the best team ever. I hope they win 102 games, have a lower RD than the 2016 Cubs and then lose in the NLDS.

They'll still probably get to 104 but the run differential isn't going to happen. They were 67 behind the 2016 Cubs coming into tonight with 23 games left which would mean outscoring their opponents by almost 3 runs per game (after tonight, that will be over 3 runs per game). Even before this slump they weren't outscoring opponents by even two runs per game on the year.

The Indians actually have a better chance of getting the RD right now. They're at +199, so 53 behind the Cubs with 22 games to go. They'll rest some players down the stretch but they're also only 2.5 games behind the Astros for HFA.

Or, you know, the Dodgers just might be kind of okay. There is nothing to flip, whatever they had shown was likely fraudulent and they are more like the well above average but still flawed team they've been the last 2-4 years.

Cubs are still better.

I was trying to be nice without saying that

Man I thought the Cardinals or Brewers would catch the Rockies for WC2 but I guess I forgot to figure in how many games Colorado has left against the Dodgers

Kershaw's velo was down tonight, too. He's definitely not quite right -- at least not yet.

Maybe Rizzo will get another shot at him in the NLCS if the Dodgers get by the Dbacks

The Nationals are only 5 back of the greatest team of all time.

And the Indians have caught the Astros for the best record in the AL. They were 13 games up on Cleveland and Boston in late July.
