He was at 7.9 WAR in 2016. He was well on his way to that again last year before getting hurt.

 

Even if he only goes from 2.3 -> 6.5 (below his average when healthy), he'll still easily more than make up for regression from Javy.

Its still terrible that their best case scenario is their broken superstar isn't broken and that he hopefully offsets the freakish ascension and almost inevitable regression of their temporary superstar. It's especially terrible because they have CHOSEN THIS PATH.
