People at work were asking me if I like Smoltz....no not that much. I feel like the broadcast is in love with Cleveland

they're beating our ass left and right, what do you expect them to do? talk about how great the team that can't score a run is?

Fair point. Even the pregame is painting them as the unlikely, gritty team to take down the powerhouse Cubs, as though they're the however many time champion Yankees defending their title. Just getting old I guess

how can you portray a team as "unlikely" and also portray them as the defending champion yankees? I think you're just being sensitive.

I just picked up my KB World Series jersey yesterday (ordered it last Sunday) and put it on. It smells like a combination of cheap cigarettes and kimchi. I can barely stand the smell, but its time that his luck turns around. He's gonna hit a monster dong this inning.

Javy seems to be regressing and it's really upsetting

Again while I was really trying to buy into the whole "Javy randomly turned into a very good hitter overnight" I was always kind of bracing for this because well he's done it all year. Has 2 good weeks then a bad month. I am not sure why...actually kind of perplexing to see someone have a great approach and then a terrible one. but either way this is regular season Javy. Just be thankful we had awesome Javy earlier in the playoffs because I'm not sure we are even playing right now without him.

Javy definitely had some good PAs against RHP in the first 2 rounds(the HR against Cueto, the oppo double off Maeda), but he was also shielded by facing an inordinate amount of LHSP(5 of 10 NLDS/NLCS games). Now the only lefty he's going to face is Miller, and he's facing righties far better than he's seen thus far too.

The off-season will be very interesting

Not really. We'll likely let Dex walk, sign a closer, and maybe add an SP thru trade.

I meant they're portaying the Cubs as the Goliath, which seems silly to me when they fall back on all the curse nonsense. I loathe Joe Buck and when he's the better part of the broadcast it's hard to listen to. I usually watch on delay, but I keep getting texts during the game so I've been watching live and it's a real adjustment to actually listen to the play by play when it's not Len and JD

Maybe this will be like the Giants game where we suck all game offensively and randomly put it together for a run.

Oh wait Giants pen vs Indians pen

I'd use Schwarber here to PH for Lackey, then Wood runs for him.

Why use him in a low leverage situation?

You might not get to use him in a high-leverage situation. Also I think he'll do better against Kluber than some Indians bullpen person.

Why pick on Baez when there are seven easy outs in the lineup right now?

Because Javy isn't even taking ABs right now, he's just flailing at anything and everything thrown at him.

But by and large, this team has gotten away from what made them a great offense, which is not giving the pitcher anything. They're giving a ton away right now.

You have at least 1 and probably a 2nd pinch hit opportunity for the pitcher's spot alone. Maybe they give up a bunch of runs, but you take that risk on the chance that Schwarber can actually step to the plate as the tying run or better.
