Personally thought Kluber looked better than Cueto, Bum, Kershaw & Hill tonight. That 2 seamer was wicked and he was just hitting the corner or off the corner called strikes all night.

Knock around the next 2 bums and see if starting Kluber in game 4 if hes tired and loses some control & movement.

The guy looked fantastic tonight but hes not Walter Johnson.

Yeah, Kluber was great. And this is not to say that the ump sucked, because he did. Stop calling balls strikes!

But Kluber wasn't just hitting the corners. He was hitting just off the corner every time. That makes him almost unhittable when the ump is opening the zone like that. But I credit Kluber for not only hitting his spots, but knowing he was gonna get a little more and going out to the limits of what would be acceptable and painting there instead.

Let's just bomb the goon they run out there tomorrow and go home with a split. And I'm not sure I want to see Rondon pitch again. He hasn't looked right in a long time.

Yeah, I have no interest in seeing Rondon pitch again unless we're up by 5 or down by 5. With Edwards, Strop, Montgomery and Wood, we have enough to get the ball to Chapman.

I was at work watching this game and was just beyond impressed with Kluber. Of course, we have a guy in my office from Buffalo who now thinks he's not only the world's biggest Indians fan (after saying nothing about them for FIVE MONTHS) but just being a giant annoying douche about it too.

Schwarber looked great. We had them on the ropes. It was a "closer" game than 6-0.

Cubs 7-3 Wednesday night.

I missed the last 30 pages because I was watching the game.

Just checked in to say the Cubs still have this. This is the game you expected to lose if you were going to lose any of them. Obviously you don't want to lose any of them, but I think you know what I'm saying. Kluber was unhittable last night. Tip your cap and kill their mortal pitchers. Then get to Kluber on short rest.

Cubs in 5.

This one really didn't feel like the last two times we got shut down. We worked counts and threatened. Kluber and other just made pitches, the ump expanded his zone and couldn't quite come up big in the clutch. I'm not too worried about our offense though I am worried a bit about their line up.

Win today/tomorrow if the rain is an issue and we did what you came here to do. I'm a scared little baby about falling down 2-0 but what the hell. We're in the World Series. And even if we do we can still take 3 at Wrigley.

Maybe if rain becomes an issue in this game we can move game 2 to Wrigley and they can give us the home field advantage we deserve anyways.

Agree - this was a really competitive 6-0 (if there is such a thing). Cubs hitters worked deep into counts, made their guys work. It wasn't Kershaw breezing through 10-pitch innings.

Miller can't throw 50+ every night, and while Kluber was excellent, he's not getting that extra off the corner with every ump. I'm betting Game 4 doesn't go as well for him.

All this did was go from the Cubs granting Cleveland a quick death to a long protracted one.

I wasn't expecting/hoping that my game thread turn would come up so quickly in this series, so I'm not on the road yet and can actually start the game 2 thread; should I, or does someone want to have Fred start it?

Already took care of it.

kluber was throwing that 2-seamer that looked like it moved about 18-inches at 94 mph. that's obscene.

I'm not that down about this game. With a 6 days rested Kluber in front of a crazy Game 1 home crowd, this was essentially a must win for Cleveland. If you're going to lose this game, you came out of this about as well as hoped. Schwarber looked unbelievable after the time off. Put a ton of pitches on Miller already in this series (optimist in me wonders if Francona's overuse isnt' starting to show a little bit?). Lester really didn't give up many hard hit balls, and stayed under 100 pitches. No mileage put on our closer or best lefty reliever. Hoping the guy with the season OPS < .600 morphing into Mickey Mantle isn't sustainable for the Indians the entire series. And hope Kluber's pitches aren't this live the rest of the series (particularly if the Indians use him Game 4 & 7), we saw the difference in Game 2 Kershaw vs Game 6 Kershaw.

Anyone have a pic of where that Schwarber ball hit the wall?

Found it. :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf:

I don't know that Joe has a doghouse, but it sure seems like Soler is in one right now.

It makes me wonder what the odds are that he's on this roster next year. Theo and co. would have to sell low on him. I still like Jorge and think he could develop into a star, but even if his bat does get more consistent there are still major concerns with his frequent injuries and to a lesser extent defense.

I'm not sure how great a Kershaw-Kluber comparison is because the Dodgers rode Kershaw way more than Cleveland has ridden Kluber, Kershaw was just a few months back from injury and, to be honest, Kershaw probably was pitching hurt in Game 6.

The boys had numerous chances with runners in scoring position and just didn't come through. Kubler was great but he escaped a few RISP situations as well and one more biscut for breakfast and Schwarber makes it a 2-1 game. MIller pulled a Houdini in the 7th. We are used to seeing the boys come through in those situations, so it was disappointing to say the least. I'm sure Indian fans were freaking out in the 7th and next time a situation comes up like that, I doubt they get as fortunate. Bottom line, we had our chances and didn't capitalize. Keep doing what they are doing and the hits will come, we've seen it hundreds of times this year. The split on the road is still very much in play.

What I learned from this game is that we're not ready for robot umps. The strike/ball graphs I'm seeing on top of the K zone from Fox last night tell me that the technology isn't good enough yet to be reliable. The overhead camera shots that Fox was showing that clearly indicated pitches weren't in the zone and were called strikes aren't coming up any differently in the data sets. Maybe more consistently incorrect, but certainly not any more accurate than the umps are.

The point of robot umps is consistency. If it's off by a little, it's off by a little, but it'd be off by a little for every pitch throughout a game.

That sounds exactly like something a robot would say. :-k

CUBS are 7-1 this postseason when they score a run

CUBS are 0-3 this postseason when they don't score a run

So we score and we win.
