Glad that wasn't a dream. Cubs are in the World Series!

So, I have to be that guy. Was Puig safe on the final out?

I've been a long time lurker, appreciating all of your posts and the work that goes into maintaining this site. I have no words (but how is that any different). What an incredible night of baseball. On to the series..

I woke up this morning at 5:00 am. Thought to myself, "hmm. i have to wake up in 1.5 hours to go to work. oh well THE CUBS ARE GOING TO THE WS! Why am I not more tired? I was up till 2:00...wait...it's SUNDAY!" Those two thoughts in conjunction and flipping my pillow and rolling over smiling was an incredible moment.

He was out. Instant reactions by Rizzo and Puig tell you all you need to know.

sorry if this has been touched on, but we gotta have fred start the first world series game thread, right?

Yep. Great reminder to Tim to bump one of his old game threads and rename it.

Fred would not have wanted it that way. The man maintained game thread standards!

Agreed. Gotta ride the Soccer wave first. Fred should have one if the Cubs don't sweep.

I'm next if they don't sweep, and I'll happily give up my spot to Fred if needed. Odds are I'd completely forget about it since I'll be in Chicago, so it just makes all of the sense to have Fred do it.

This is going to be a long two days! Go Cubs!

Like the game 5 win, this is one of those times where I do not mind the days off at all.

Yeah I wanna soak it in. At the moment I don't even care if we beat cleveland. I want that to go away before the World Series (that the friggin cubs are playing in) starts

I'm somehow more emotional reading/listening/watching everything this morning than I was last night. I think it was too unreal last night...I don't think it had sunk in.

I'm still kind of in a weird place where I don't know how to feel and it hasn't fully sunken in yet.

It might take the whole offseason to process. The 1908/1945 dates are something that we've all been raised with in our heads. One of those has been erased, and the other could/should fall too. I can't just flip a switch in my head.

"They're ready for this moment," Baez said of those people. "And we're ready for this moment."

So how long, he was asked, could they all celebrate what just happened here?

"Ooh," gushed the NLCS co-MVP. "Forever."
