If they do this, I'm making the 1000 mile drive for games 3,4, and 5 next weekend. Likely no tickets, but I'll be at Murphy's or standing out in the street. I've invested too much into this team to not be there.

thankful for a day of college football to keep me occupied...this game 6 feels much different than 03...03 we were favored to win game 6 this one not so much ...I really think we find a way tonight to get it done though ...somehow some way

The Cubs are favored to win this game.

Dodgers are -130

Betting odds are far from an indication of predicted outcomes

I'm getting more nervous as the day goes on.

This isn't 2003 when we had three games to play with and had the two hottest pitchers on the planet set up.

All that needs to happen for it all to go to poop here is Kershaw being Kershaw then post-May Arrieta being post-May Arrieta.

All that needs to happen for it to be glorious and historic and amazing is for the 2016 Cubs to be the 2016 Cubs.

Definitely more excited than nervous, but I feel the nerves catching up. I can't think about anything else and IU crapping the bed so far in Evanston isn't helping to distract me.

But I still have faith in the Cubs offense not getting shutdown again by Kershaw. And I probably have too much faith that Arrieta can come up with a big winner-take-all game, the way he did last year in the wildcard game vs. Pittsburgh. But I know I can't handle even getting to that point.

Put 70% odds on either of those happening and it's still more likely than not that one doesn't. The Cubs have the better offense and the better/deeper bullpen, so Kershaw needs to be as good as he was in Game 2, not merely very good like Lester was on Thursday. 2 runs over 7 innings is really good, a 2.57 ERA, and it might just doom the Dodgers if Hendricks is sharp. Kershaw gave up 2+ runs in 10 of 21 starts this year and in 9 of 13 postseason starts.

I created a backup game thread at Emergency NSBB in case the board melts down

can someone put this in the OP just in case we really need it?

I just tried to sign in just in case I needed to quickly tonight and it didn't recognize my username.

I've been beyond excited yesterday and today. I'm rocking the f out to most songs I hear. The kids and I played some back yard baseball today. I'm inviting over every CUBS fan I know because this part of the country exists solely for SEC football, and I need to be around as many Cubs fans as possible. My friends who still don't believe the Cubs can pull it off aren't willing to put money on Kershaw tonight. (Either thats because my excitement is finally wearing off on them, or they know I will fight them for doubting within my ear shot.)

Tonight will be epic. And only in the most awesome sense of the word.

I'll be online tonight, so I should be able to control things.

Then again, I refilled the beer fridge so who knows if I'll make it to the end tonight.

Resorting to homework and yard work to distract myself from this clock that seems to have stopped moving. Desperation play. Odds of success: nil.

I haven't been able to get nearly as mad watching the Iowa game as I normally do

We're doing our best to give it to you...

I registered for the emergency site about 30 minutes ago, but haven't received the confirmation email yet. Then again, maybe gmail is still a mess from the DDoS mess from yesterday.
