So that was some fun postseason baseball last night, wasn't it? Yeah we didn't win but that was a true intense postseason game that had you on the edge of your seat. The kind of drama you dreamed about during those cold winter months.

But the Cubs have a problem. A big problem. beliEVEN is alive, the myth of the un-slayable playoff beast is growing stronger. The Cubs need help. They need someone who has been there before, someone who has forced the Giants to walk off the field with their heads down. We need to go out and find the last active pitcher to eliminate the Giants from the postseason. We need this guy:

This dude's been slaying the Giants since half our team was in grade school. Look John, we've tolerated you, you weird quirks, your surly attitude, your cancer fleeing. It is clear that you are a giant douchebag. But now you have an opportunity to be our giant douchebag. Go earn your damn jewelry (and get a damn haircut too).

I don't want to steal too much of Omar's thunder, but Matt Moore has never faced the Chicago Cubs in his career. In fact, only 1 current Cub has ever stepped to the plate against him, Dexter Fowler, who quarter-donged. He has an xFIP in the high 4's for the season, and is towards the top of the league in hard hit %. Advantage: Cubs

Lets do this!

Honestly, if the Cubs had to lose last night, the way things went were basically the best case scenario. They got to Bumgarner, got to Romo, and it took two lefties getting hits off Chapman back to back to beat them. Only pitcher unavailable is Montgomery, and Strop, Edwards and Rondon are fresh.

I think this is correct.

one of my big takeaways from last night was just how much I hate this toothy doofus.

Look how he's trying to look cool but yet it's taking such effort to keep those crooked choppers in his mouth.

No one said this would be easy. We drew the Giants, the current dynasty. Were we supposed to win every game, 11 in a row? That would have been swell but the reality is these are good teams. The Giants are a good team. They are fundamentally sound. Good for them for coming back last night and good for the Cubs for not curling up into a ball. A lot of positives out of last night's game.

EMBRACE THE TARGET

EXECUTE

CONQUER

Yep, although just a complete shutdown 1-0 loss to Bumgarner wouldn't have been too bad of a scenario because then you just chalk it up to Bumgarner dominating but hey at least you probably won't see him again and Jake was just as good.

This scenario gives me a lot of confidence in the Cubs as a whole but definitely worried about Jake moving forward even though the overall numbers weren't terrible.

Well, now I kinda want to root for a loss so you can never besmirch another playoff game thread.

Dude that just was the set up for the big reveal of goofy faced Lackey. You are better at detecting humor than that, even bad humor.

No, it's still gross and lame because we all know you mean it.

BRING BACK LOGAN.

Ha, whatever

I am all for bringing back Logan though

I didn't get home until 3 AM last night because of that stupid game.

3 AM.

Like an ANIMAL. Only filthy degenerates can live like this.

My horsefeathering babies decided that immediately after the game was the best time to both wake up. They have impecible timing.

I haven't had 5 straight hours of sleep since Wednesday night almost entirely because of this team (traveling to and from Chicago and a sick toddler on the night of our travel day). Please make this upcoming night's lack of sleep worth it.

By the way, I'm totally not complaining.

The only thing keeping me going right now is I know I can roll out of here directly into the Cubs romping all over these chuckleheads tonight thanks to the humane start time.
